Oh Puhh-lease. Seriously?!

Doughty was giving Quick a place to pass the puck. Why skate to Quick and make a bad situation worse?

Just PASS it to him in the corner already (um, preferably BEFORE the opposing team gets behind the net and forechecks your ass!)

I would like the team to show up....Is that too much to ask ?

Gotta agree with this.

Meh. This is the first time you will ever hear me say this. On to the next game.

I was expecting a loss, actually, though not like that.

The winner of game two wins the series. Bank it.

It's not the Same Blues team, as much as everyone doesn't want to admit it.

Their breakout's were awesome tonight...Cause they made that back end a lot better with Bow and Leopold.

It slots people in the correct spots. If the Blues get enough scoring this series, it's not going to matter how the Kings play.

The loss of Greene and Mitchell is really hurting.

Your offense starts from the defense, if the Kings can't cause turnovers or move the puck......They are screwed.

As the game wore on their breakouts turned to into chip-n-chase and eventually into flat out turnovers.

The second half of that game looked like the same old Blues.

Meanwhile, Dustin Penner was the Kings most effective forward tonight. Ruminate on that for a while.

Quick always bounces back after one of his goaltending gaffes. Hopefully the rest of the team come to play in game 2. The better team won tonight.

tough loss, we all agree.

But I have (almost) never been more sure the Kings were about to score a goal: They had 3:30 left on the powerplay, and they had just been blasting shots at Elliott. They were outshooting Stl 10-5 in OT.

The Kings were a few opportunities away from being "the better team." (even Blues fans know this!)

Good news - The Kings were dominated for most of the game but you could tell the Blues were beginning to wear down towards the mid point of the game. We got better the longer the game went on and you can see the game was beginning to tilt in our favor. The Blues play a tough physical game but naturally we are bigger. Try running into trees and walls for 60+ minutes per game and I guarantee the Blues will breakdown! By games 3,4, & 5 I can see the Blues avoid physicality and the hard areas if they could.

Bad News - Muzzin and Ellerby are nowhere near Greene and Mitchell when healthy! You're only as strong as your weakest link and the pairing is what going to kill us!!!

Other news - Why in the hell are we experimenting with lines now? Let's get back to the normal lines please!!!!

I just can't blame Quick, they really had no business getting to OT, he was spectacular.

Ellerby is horrible, Voynov is playing like crap. Makes you wonder if AMart is hurt, amazing to think DS would prefer Ellerby over him.

Props to Penner, was the Kings best forward tonight. Maybe he can flip a switch, wish others could.

Kopitar was good defensively, but something is just wrong. I don't know, he lacks that extra gear to turn it on offensively. This is as poorly as I have ever seen Kopi play offensively, he lost every puck battle tonight.

Richards was terrible yet again. The guy is invisible 5 on 5. A shell of his former self. Maybe someone should create a thread "Where were you when you heard the Kings acquired Brad Richardson" they are the same player right now.

I thought Lewis and Stoll played really well, as they have most of the season, but again, the Kings will be out in 4 or 5 if Stoll is the best center.

Don't really know what Nolan is contributing to the team right now.

next game is obviously a must win.

Kings completely dominated for most of the game.

Wow. Really? I was there. Seven rows from Quick's right shoulder in the 2nd and 4th periods and two observations:

1. The Blues dominated much of the first 50 minutes with HUGE stretches where Elliot could have checked his twitter account and had some concession stand fare.

2. Quick was pretty horrible handling the puck on a few occasions. Of course the Muzzin/Ellerby pairing would give ANY NHL goaltender, living or dead, nightmares for all eternity.

The Blues were way more physical than us, and you rarely see the Kings get out-muscled. Greene needs to be back, we need someone like him playing.

Btw, how bad has Dwight King been this season? I don't understand why he keeps playing, I'd much rather have Toffoli on that line with Stoll and Lewis, or Clifford.

I don't think there is an underdog...the Kings did win the cup last season though. Just both really good teams.

The last I heard, the kings were the favorites over the blues.

And as much as I love Sutter, I have to question why Amart has been a HS for so long. Nothing against Muzz or even Ellerby, but Amart is deserving of a start in the playoffs imo. Richie was a HS all season, but he finds himself starting in the playoffs, which is a bit of a headscratcher as well.

I forgot one more good news - Kings need to only win tomorrow and mission complete. We only need one of the two in St. Lou to get home ice advantage. With the Kings play trending upward towards the end of the game gives me hope.

It's unfortunate that Quick had to gift wrap the game for the Blues because the bigger issue should be the shenanigans Prime Ticket pulled. I hope everyone here takes the time to contact Prime Ticket and let them know what dumbasses they are. The fact that they would even consider the first quarter of a basketball game as worthy of not only splitting, but completely taking over the screen of a NHL overtime game shows the buffoonery at work there. Please share your frustrations with the clown show they have at Prime Ticket.

OH FoxSports West... who's brilliant idea was it to do a split screen?! Did they really have a difficult time deciding which game was more important? Beginning of the clippers games or sudden death in st. louis...hmmm.

The game was also live on TNT, but PrimeTicket/FSW refused to let anyone know this and instead went with the awesome split screen. They become the laughing stock in the cable world in a matter of minutes. So many people flooded twitter and facebook with complaints, they couldn't keep up.

They shouldn't have scheduled the Ducks game on the same day as the Kings game. Pretty much every SoCal team played today except for the Lakers. The Dodgers had KCAL so Prime Ticket was off the hook there. If the Ducks were off tonight, it should've been Kings on FSW, Clippers on PT, and Angels on KCOP. Couldn't Fox have made a request?
