Just watched this on DVR.

Thanks, Jonathan, for making a 27 year old grown, married man punch a hole in his wall.

**** that game.

Oh, and we're 0-4-3 in our last seven road games, by the way.

And **** you, Sutter. The hell is Muzzin-Ellerby doing on the ice at any time of any playoff game ever played by human beings? Ridiculous.

That Clifford-Kopitar-Carter line sure did work, though!!11

(This is fresh, as in ten minutes ago, allow me to rant...)

Haha!

I feel like I just took a time capsule to me three hours ago... :P

I have such a headache from that Fox ******** and then to piss away the game on a PP like that...

Kings are getting swept.

Talk about overreaction. Jesus H. Christ, what is the matter with some of you people?

Yeah, stop over reacting FFS. Game 1 of the playoffs. I think too many people were spoiled with that 16-4 run last year. 16-4 is UNBELIEVABLY good.

All in all, a repeat is really something that one should hope for, not expect. Statistics show just how amazingly rare repeats are. I for one am still enjoying last years run and the cup. I think more people should too, and relax. QF, SF, F, SCF, doesn't matter where/if the Kings go out, they already that first cup that broke the ice.

This is the most embarrassed I've been as a Kings fan in a long time. I can't even believe how pathetic that was because HE'S NEVER ****ING IMPROVED ON IT AND HE STILL TRIES TO HANDLE THE PUCK.

Okay, be embarrassed of the defending Stanley Cup champions after losing one lousy playoff game.

You act like your team is the Florida Panthers.

I just can't blame Quick, they really had no business getting to OT, he was spectacular.

Ellerby is horrible, Voynov is playing like crap. Makes you wonder if AMart is hurt, amazing to think DS would prefer Ellerby over him.

Props to Penner, was the Kings best forward tonight. Maybe he can flip a switch, wish others could.

Kopitar was good defensively, but something is just wrong. I don't know, he lacks that extra gear to turn it on offensively. This is as poorly as I have ever seen Kopi play offensively, he lost every puck battle tonight.

Richards was terrible yet again. The guy is invisible 5 on 5. A shell of his former self. Maybe someone should create a thread "Where were you when you heard the Kings acquired Brad Richardson" they are the same player right now.

I thought Lewis and Stoll played really well, as they have most of the season, but again, the Kings will be out in 4 or 5 if Stoll is the best center.

Don't really know what Nolan is contributing to the team right now.

next game is obviously a must win.

I would say A-Mart is still hurt, but no reason to put him on IR. There is no defender in Manchester that can play bottom pairing minutes.

None of those kids are ready. If A-Mart was healthy you have to figure Sutter would have gotten him some games down the stretch here. So A-Mart would have been ready to step in for playoff's.

Fraser will most likely be in next game, the Fourth line has been bad without him.

Stoll /Lewis/Williams continue to be the most active , and consistent Fore-checkers. Also Stoll continues to be the best Center on the ice...

More forwards have to do more, and the Centers have to step up (looking at you Richards/Kopitar).

This series is over in 5 maybe 4 if Kopitar/Richards are kept off the score sheet.

If Kopitar will stop pretending he is Colin Fraser, Kings will win this series. He is the key to put the Blues on their heels. They don't have any forward who can play with him when he's on his game. Also Richards must turn on playoff mode. I don't expect much more from other forwards. Watching some Monarchs hockey, Linden Vey would be an upgrade from anything we got in bottom 6. GKG

I looked at the replay over a few times, and it is all on Quick. He had plenty of time to ring the puck either direction, but he chose to be fancy and hang onto the puck to make a stick to stick pass. Unfortunately, it went to a wrong stick.
Poor Quick, besides that bone head play he fell flat on his face trying to save the goal.

Yo Quickie! You are a Beast playing in front of the net...but you are a Peewee playing behind the net. Just remember that and say no next time.

Just a flashback note. Parise scored on him on game 5 in last year Final against the Devils doing the same thing. Being cute behind the net.

Blues played their game of the season while kings played their worst, yet it went to OT so i feel confident.

Roll these lines please:

Brown-Kopitar-Williams
Penner-Richards-Carter
Clifford-Stoll-Lewis
King-Fraser-Nolan

Take out Ellerby, put in Martinez.

+1

Regarding Martinez I noticed from reading the posts last night during the game was that Martinez was not comfortable playing on the right side on defense. I would put him in regardless.

Sit Muzzin if you have to make it work. I don't think it would hurt to have him up in the pressbox watching.

Anyone know the status of Greene?

Also, good to see Regehr back on the ice after getting cut open.

Penner had a nice game as well, great work along the boards. Blues had a hard time extracting the puck from him. Hope he can keep it going.:yo:

Penner + Pancakes = Playoff Performer

Bottom line is it is only one game and the guys played poorly and still almost stole it. Game 2 will be better. Still have a chance for the split on the road.

I have confidence that LA will rally around this. Quick will be even more determined now.

The Blues have woke the dragon, time to get the split.

I'm pretty sure it happened in a game against Phoenix as well. I want to say Vermette got the goal, but I'm not exactly sure. Chipchura maybe?

Clearly Quick was the only reason that game ever got to OT, and he was clearly the reason the Kings lost on that particular play. That was an example of too much Jonathan Quick. Too much athlete, not enough simple goaltending. Simple goaltending includes playing the puck, but not the way Quick did. He looked like he was a defenseman about to start a PP break out.

A fairly solid ass kicking from the Blues in regulation. If the Kings can't win a faceoff, and can't make even one decent pass, they're going to look bad no matter who the opponent is. It looked that much worse when it was against a very motivated St. Louis team in a playoff game.

There's a reason why what the Kings did last year had never been done in quite the same way ever before. The Kings got a punch to the mouth last night, and now they have to come back with a better effort. It's a 7 game series for just that purpose.

Little reason not to go back to the lines that brought the team success though.
