The Kings are not going to go 16-4 again. That may never happen in our lifetime again.

So lets get that thought out of our heads...

On another positive note, looks like Blues can't score much. I think if Sutter puts the old lines back together, we can cause them trouble.

He should go with what finished the game. Those lines were far better than the regular lines were of late. They got pressure, hit, had some nice chances and held a forecheck. If things were that way the whole game, we'd probably be singing a much different tune right now.

The positives are the way we hung in there and crawled the game even and really was starting to carry the play. Hopefully that balance of play in our favor is how we play all of game 2. I agree with the person upthread in that I was going to be happy with the game and the team regardless of the result once we got into OT. But the way we conceded the game erased all that. Pretty brutal.

We all love Quick. He gave us a chance to win. With that said, with all due respect to him, if there was ever a chance to blame someone for a loss that was it.

There was no logical or illogical explanation that could describe what Quick could have been thinking there. Richards was alone along the boards waiting for a pass and DD was the same on the other side. He didn't even have to pass it tape to tape. He could have slid it along the boards to either. Quick was acting like he was surveying the D like he was going to breakout pass but he was behind the net. He had the puck forever as if he was going to skate the puck out. Steen wasn't even going to pressure him until Quick was just sitting with it. I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to understand what he could have wanted to do there and the answer is that there was nothing he could have done right.

We'll get the next two though.

The answer is, he had no business handling the puck.

Agree that we'll get the next two. Just hope Quick isn't mentally fragile and we get shelled in game 2.

I agree,

Stoll's line was back together and really good. Stoll also looked good with Penner.

Once again man, Richards/Kopitar....They can't keep getting outplayed by Stoll.

That has to change like yesterday.

While I do agree, I think Kopitar needs Brown and Williams back. Kopitar hasn't been the same for a month now, and I think some familiarity will do him good. Anything to help him getting going. But won't be surprised if Sutter sticks with the OT line up, they played well.

Jonathan Quick might be the greatest goalie this team has ever had. He deserves a little more respect.

It's game 1 of the first round people, relax.

The OT with King-Kopitar-Carter was by far the best I've seen King play this season. The third line was great too. To be honest, I just don't see Kopitar doing much this postseason. That means get Brown and Williams off his line to another center.

What's really frustrating about this one was that it seemed very clear to me during OT that we'd eventually win it. Quick ****ed up and that's that.

Another thing, what's with all the blocked shots?! It seemed like every shot from the point was blocked. So damn frustrating!

I look at it this way, a lesser goalie and that game is 5-0 and everyone is *****^7 worse , cause the Kings wouldn't have a Cup without Quick.

So Quick coughed it up....So what, the Kings should have lost that game like Two periods ago.

You can't play like that, and expect to win a game....PERIOD.

That was a terrible effort.

There is not one guy in that locker room that is going to blame Quick.

Not one....So why should I ?

I just don't get blaming him for a loss. That's the life of a goaltender. You spend all game cleaning up everyone else's messes. Then you make one mistake yourself and it's all your fault? How does that make sense at all. The amount of mistakes Ellerby and Muzzin made in this game could've accounted for like five goals.

If this game had ended in 1-0, everyone would've been singing his praises and rightfully laying the blame at the feet of the rest of the team who did absolutely nothing in regulation. If Quick had given up a goal on any of the stupid mistakes the rest of the team made, no one would've blamed him. But he has one mistake that wasn't even entirely his fault thanks to everyone standing around, and the blame falls completely on him. That doesn't make sense to me.

O well, the kings didn't deserve to win that game.

Quick was the only guy to show up. Not one person in that locker room is going to blame him .

Also Steen deserved that, he was the best player on the ice not named Quick.

I agree with this. Kings were outplayed by the Blues and if not for Quick, they'd have never even gotten to OT to begin with. How abt the forwards start stepping up and shooting at the net? Kopi, you do remember where the net is don't you? If Quicks screw-up was the only one the Kings made tonite, they just might not of lost afterall.

Kopitar should turn is around. He's a beast on the puck, he just needs to get his scoring touch back.

And you're right, just starting a 4 minute double minor, I think we were bound to score on that power play. We had them on their heels!

kings performance wasn't surprising. last year the blues had games where they dominated the kings, tkings just found ways to win. hopefully brown goes beastmode and sutter pulls his head out of his ass.

The first 59 minutes were painful to watch. Kings completely dominated in every category.

Then to lose the game the way they did just completely deflates the entire team and just pumps up the other team.

If the kings win that game, the blues would have been devastated. Instead the kings are in serious trouble without Greene and Mitchell and the blues have complete confidence now. Game ones are such huge games in a series. Last year the kings gained tremendous confidence with each game one victory. Now they trail a series for the third time in 4 years. The first two times ended in six game series defeats.

OH FoxSports West... who's brilliant idea was it to do a split screen?! Did they really have a difficult time deciding which game was more important? Beginning of the clippers games or sudden death in st. louis...hmmm.

He didn't blame anyone, Quick just explained why he took so much time to move the puck.

Basically (Didn't have many options).
