You guys not wanting to blame Quick are so blind to the fact that this has been a major hole in his game since he came up and NOTHING has happened to change it. It's sad.

I absolutely blame Quick for that goal, but we have much bigger problems than Quick who was fantastic for 99.9% of the night, starting with Ellerby, Muzzin, and Kopitar

People would be more than willing to pile on Quick if he wasn't the sole reason the Kings were in the game.

The Kings did not deserve to win the game, it's as simple as that. If the Kings don't pick it up and stop leaving Quick out to dry there will be three more in short succession and the season will be over. I have a big problem with the halfway-in policy taken at the deadline, not going to sugarcoat it at all, we are at least one forward short and it was killer tonight.

I have confidence that St. Louis even letting us back in the game will go along way. Series is far from over. Kings get a win on thursday and will be in a good position going home. Aim for the split.

So this tells me you didn't watch the game.

Yeah, you're right. I didn't watch us get completely dominated for 59 minutes while our goaltender stood on his head. You've got to be kidding me. How about the offense spends some time in the offensive zone? How about the defense actually clears it out of our zone? How about everyone stops standing around on the PP while Steen skates in and strips the puck away from our goaltender?

He made a mistake but for some people to be going off on him like he just lost them the game is ridiculous. The game shouldn't have even made it to OT.

At least we will get to see if this core can actually win a series after falling behind. They are 0 for 2 so far.

Yeah, this too. I have a much better feeling about this series than the Vancouver/San Jose one from 2010 and 2011

I think he has been better this year. Yes he made a mistake but where was his support?
If he is playing the puck with his known issues, someone should be coming back to help him. Yes a bad play by Quick was the difference in the game but for 59.5 minutes he was the only King playing.

That was one of the dubest things that will ever happen in hockey. Richards all alone to the left, DD wide open to the right. Quick holds onto the puck for 3.7 seconds as if he's going to rush the puck up the ice. He just begged for that to happen. Steen didn't even want to pressure him until he saw Quick was just holding onto the puck. That's how long that was.

The Kings will bounce back.

Yeah for such a stellar game, I couldn't believe he was sitting there like he was going to quarterback the PP. We had a great chance to win the game, and Quick tries to get cute. Every chance to win is extremely important. A win like this gets the 800 pound gorilla off the Blues back.

I don't know weather to laugh or cry myself to bed tonight.

Kopitar is still injured, you can tell. But Muzzin/Ellerby were ****ing horrendous, I think Greene (if healthy) and Martinez need to play next game.

That's about the worst way I ever seen to lose a game as a kings fan. Last sec goal. 4 minute PP OT. In a position to have a chance of Winning a game that the other team just ****ing dominated and to lose like that. Just brutal. It's the combination of expectation of victory combined with such a **** way to lose. Amazing.

Never. Never in a decade.

That's a quick assumption. Maybe they are teaching him how to play the puck instead of ditching it as soon as he gets it. We don't know what goes on in practice.

I think that goal summed up the game pretty well actually. A lack of mental preparedness contributing to one soul sucking loss. Live by the goaltender you die by the goaltender. The Kings performance as a whole was in no way acceptable.

The Kings did not deserve to win that game and the loss was what they earned. If they don't play better there will be 3 more of them. On to Thursday.

He's been bad with the puck throughout his whole career. I haven't seen any improvement with his skills. Some people can't get it down and I think he's one of them, he should stop doing it since he's obviously bad at it. I don't blame him for the game but that was a major bone headed play.

It doesn't matter how we played before. We played 59.5 bad minutes of hockey and still went to OT. Yes, there are a LOT of bad things and Quick was great up until that but the fact of the matter is we were in the game at that point and on a powerplay when that happened. I'm not just piling all the blame on Quick but we were in it until that. We'd have had 3 minutes more of PP time to win it but we didn't get the chance. Not all on Quick but that is 100000% UNACCEPTABLE.

Honestly, the biggest disappoint was Kopitar. No shooting mentally, just sticking to the perimeter. I don't know if he's injured or that he just lost his drive.
The Richards line got it going in OT, but i would still love to see the old lines back.

Quick giveth, and Quick taketh away. Very much like his giveaway to Parise last year during the Finals.

It really does suck to give the game away like that, especially when you had a 4 minute powerplay, fought hard to get to OT, and were dominating the Blues in sudden death.

They lost due to a mental gaffe, but Quick shouldn't have been in that position. He took way too long to make a decision and his linemates took their time to recover, which enabled McDonald to attack aggressively with no Kings player on him, and that pressure naturally led to a big turnover and that was it. Meanwhile, Doughty was on the hashmark toward the boards anticipating Quick to wrap the puck around.

The Kings were also forcing passes that they should not have been attempting during the PP (as I posted that right before the Blues cleared the puck and ended up scoring the OT goal). However, I'm not overly concerned with the Blues. The bigger concern is the performance by some of the big guns on the team, and the dimwitted tandem of Muzzin and Ellerby.

I would rather us just lose 1-0 in regulation then go to OT, dominate, get a 4 min PP then piss it away on the dumbest play I've ever seen. Hopefully this wakes us up, and hopefully Sutter decides to go back to our normal lines, he totally neutralized Carter putting him with King and Ghostitar

That was so ****ing brutal. The absolute worst way to lose a game, IMO. I don't even want to think about it.

The only positive about this is maybe Quick will finally learn to stop ****ing around with the puck like that. Please, let him learn from this.

Watching the replay, Quick's pass attempt was tipped by Steen's stick which is why it had a strange bounce off the boards.

Surely Quick shoulders some of the blame for basically waiting still Steen was in his face before deciding to move it, but I'm wondering where the hell were the other LA players.... :help:
