The manner in which we lost Game 1 put a lot of doubt in my head on series outcome.

Kings had nothing until we played stupid and irresponsible in the 3rd (and yes refs helped too).
The way we lost that game gave them all sorts of hope and confidence that we could've stymied and shutdown in Game 1 likely for the rest of the series.

Effectively, game 2 becomes a must win, and the Kings will have much more juice than Game 1. Korpisalo playing very well. In the 3rd, LA started looking like the team we didn't want in Round 1..

That was the type of game we've been able to close out for the last 4-6 weeks. And we got complacent. And it was our top guys except for Draisaitl. Worst I've seen McDavid and Nuge play in a while. Bottom 6 was honestly solid. Defense, what can you say about Nurse-Ceci? That was a flashback to pre-Ekholm garbage. Skinner fine, but second best.

We know we have the team that can do it, but you can't take a second off. I'm nervous genuinely, we absolutely gifted the Kings a series lead.

I think you are going to see the team shoot a lot more tonight. If they do then who knows how much chaos they might cause.

They looked off a lot last game as we all know. It adds another dynamic if you are peppering the goalie with HDC's.
they also missed the net or hit the post oon 5-7 good scoring chances, they bury even 1 of those and we are talking about a sweep

You're probably the most pessimistic poster on this board. So this really does not shock me. You likely think they have little chance of winning the series being down 1-0. Even with a 100% healthy roster, the Oilers have a significant edge on the Kings in every position outside of goaltending. And I'd say they even have a very small edge there as well.

LA is not going to take this team to the woodshed. Nobody has taken the Oilers to the woodshed all year. If the Oilers lose, they lose. But it's not going to be some demoralizing ass-kicking of a series if they somehow fall short tonight. Have we been watching the same team since early January? They're not going to just roll over and die.
There are more pessimistic ones on here . Especially after loses

PSA

Don’t throw shit on the ice tonight
It’s a bad look. Love the passion but still a bad look.
Its a given that gate checks are going to be extreme tonight. Hopefully no rubber gloves. Seriously though I would arrive early. They will be checking everybody. Do they still frisk people at gate? lol that they were doing that shit back at Rexall in the day even for hockey. Or especially for hockey.

I'm sure the whole org was embarrassed about what went on monday. Wonder if any players spoke to it.

This is a big loss. Line 3 was arguably the best Oilers line in game 1. Janmark is so quietly efficient as a strong two way player including a pk that defends and has created offence with smart reads that create turnovers. However this team has legitimate bottom six depth to work around this loss.

I imagine that we are going to play 11-7 if hes out.

I do wonder if we see Holloway recalled. I dont think Shore is good enough depth.

Classic Blue and Orange unit’s today? Kinda hoping they go to the alternates they look more intimidating.
I would love to see the alternates used, but I was under the impression they already confirmed only blue’s for home games?

I think we're a better team 11-7. It creates a matchup nightmare for the opposition, as they're still going to put their top players out when McDavid is taking a shift with McLeod and Kostin (or whoever).

The Oilers blew game 1 but they didn't really do that much wrong, it's not like the Kings were getting chance after chance in the third. The McDavid pass to Draisaitl was a bad decision, then a flukely faceoff play and a 6 on 4. In OT the Oilers were right back to dominating even strength. Take less penalties and they should be okay.

Honestly I think its a coin flip between Shore and Broberg. Neither are great options.

Cant argue with you.

I think Broberg is better but I dont think hes really going to evolve until hes put in a position to succeed. Playing 5 minutes a night isnt going to help him or the Oilers. Cant rely on Shore imo.

Bring up Holloway for sure.

It's weird, most years you have a lot of black aces at the ready. Maybe due to our AHL team doing their own playoff thing they've held off on that a bit.

Holloway needs to be on a plane to Edmonton last night. He would slot in perfectly in Janmark's place.
