LA Kings are incredible. Three Game 7 wins in the same post-season tells you all you need to know about the character of this team. Great accomplishment for the Kings and all of its fans of Southern California. New York vs. LA in the finals will be a treat to watch. Cannot remember the last time New York faced LA in any sport. Great for hockey to have two great teams and two great markets playing in the finals. I think LA takes this. They are a team of destiny!

1981, Dodgers vs Yankees, Dodgers won. That was almost 10 years before I was born.

Search the SB Nation pictures database for Patrick Kane, here are the first 4 results....

Emotions are hard to hide. Sucks to be on the losing end.

Hats off, ladies and gents. Congrats on the series win and hopefully you guys bring it home and keep the Cup in the West. Maybe we can just alternate every other year for a while. ;)

I'd be a lot more frustrated if A. they lost in a stinker of a series and didn't put up any fight and weren't competitive or B. dominated and lost anyway. But neither was the case. Hard fought series in which both teams caught breaks and bounces and bad calls or lack of calls for and against....it was a well-earned series win and there's really not much else you can say than that. Congrats and here's to meeting in the WCF again next year.

And here is what I believe most BH fans are like. Very classy and knowledgeable. It would be awesome to play you guys every year. Just don't think my heart could take it.

I think it's about time I order that Doughty sweater I've been thinking about since 2008. With a Stanley Cup Final patch.

The Kings have played 59 playoff games since 2012, the most in the NHL.

That's so impressive, and what a boatload of experience for them, for both the younger players and the fact most of them have played in all 59, which is a large part of the reason (as most of them have been saying , i.e. 'the room', 'trusting the guys' 'full faith in the guys' 'we've been in this a long time' ) they were able to win 3 game 7's on the road.
You cannot put a price on how special this group is or give DL enough credit for being such a fine architect.

Best of luck vs. NYR. What a series.

I was thinking about things today and have come to the conclusion that while the Kings won I would say that it truly was a case of the team that scored the last goal won the series and not a case where the best team ended up winning.

Happy my Kings won and absolutely believe they should have but the Hawks could also just as easily have done so too. I mean I know all of this is no brainer stuff but it took me a few hours of critical thinking to really get my head around how evenly matched out two teams ended up being.

To me that is a huge compliment to both teams. We Kings fans absolutely hold (most of us anyways) the Hawks in high regards and see them as the best team in the league so for us to end up winning a game 7 against them in OT puts us at least at their level this season and that is a big deal or at least it was to me.

Now we have to win the cup and prove that we were the right team to get there.
