The third line did some great things early in this game, but I saw way way way to much of 74-28-14-13-10-22 on the ice with a chance to eliminate the Hawks tonight, and ultimately the fourth line ends up out there for 3 goals against.

Everytime it appears Sutter is ready to just let the younger players free a little bit he falls back to the veteran players.

I agree. Like damacles said you need to roll 4 lines so the top 6 isn't gassed, but I would've at least double shifted 11-12-23 and 77-70-73. Having a line playing under 15 minutes and being a minus 3 is unacceptable.

I think this just continues to show how the bottom 6 needs to be fixed this off-season.

Brown had a hell of a game, he looked really good. Lets hope he carries that over.

That's two games back to back, Brown has looked like the 2012 Brown.
Very encouraging.

I think Lewis will bounce back, he rarely is that bad on Defense. He just had a terrible game.

Clifford is another story, Mike Richards was fine, but it's apparent his conditioning is not up to snuff, his shifts were like 25 secs max.

That Jumbled lines pretty bad tonight, I know why Richards is getting off the ice, but man that kind of killed the flow for that line.

Pearson's gotten very sheltered minutes thess whole playoffs.

The rookies and Carter have been a god send, and Sutter doesn't ice them a lot. They deserve more ice and it helps the Kings. No reason why to have them shadowed by our third line.

Yeah I'm not worried about Lewis, I'm more concerned with Richards, Clifford, and King. We really need more from those guys on Friday.

Well, I'm okay with it as well. I'll just shoot Darryl a text and give him the green light.

Thanks man ;)

Since the 2011-12 season, the Kings are:

36-21 in the playoffs (.632).

But only 8-6 in close-out games (.571).

Sutter always says the 4th is the toughest to get, and his team follows suit.

He just needs to stop saying that already.

I don't even think Pearson's minutes are sheltered, he is playing some hard shifts.

You guys have to remember, these guys are from the AHL where they get an entire week off between games. Toffoli/Pearson have not even played an entire NHL season yet.

They are going to have conditioning issues till they play a full 82 game schedule, and get use to it.

The Top six looked gassed even with the Ice time spread, the solution is not to ice them more.

I wish Kopitar/Carter could play 35 minutes a game, he can't. Unfortunately the Kings have to roll four lines to keep people fresh. We have to hope the bottom six keeps its head above water and doesn't hurt the Kings.

You can't make this a two line team, that is what has pretty much put the Hawks in the hole they are in (making themselves a two line team).

Richards did a very good job tonight keeping his shifts short, but it left the lines a little jumbled and when Richards left the ice, that Fourth line got exposed.

How come other teams can do it, how can Chicago bench Versteeg and Bollig and give their icetime to higher end players when the time calls for it.

I am not saying roll three lines every game, but when you are in OT perhaps it's not a good idea to end up with those three guys who have had major issues keeping the puck out of their own net and had already allowed two goals earlier to be matched up against Kane and Saad who were the two best players on the ice for Chicago. And if you do insist on playing them make sure most of their shifts are with 8 and 6. The fourth line was on for three goals and 8/6 weren't on for any of them, the Hawks won this game because they exposed our biggest weakness. It will be tougher to do in LA, but if the Kings somehow can't close it out Friday, the game plan for a potential game 7 has to be looked at.

I don't know, I saw some silly errors in the overtime from both Pearson and Toffoli.

Experience does count in the playoffs, and Sutter isn't THAT much of gambler.

So who do you guys want to see matched up against Saad-Shaw-Kane? Handzus isn't a regular on that line and will likely be centering Sharp and Versteeg.

We know Kopitar's line is going to match up against Toews, and for most of the night it was Stoll's line out whenever Kane was on the ice.

Steeger was nailed to bench after 4th Kings goal

Regin is likely to draw in (Fans are hoping for Morin ,, Q probably send an Nordstrom just to piss off fans)

Those guys feed off the crowd like a basketball team. I would assure you if they tried that **** in Staples they would be laying all over the ice.

Home ice isn't supposed to make a difference and for teams like the Kings, they really don't. CHI is abysmal this year on the road, I just hope that continues Friday night.

Cause they have nothing to lose, their season was on the line, why wouldn't you ? Saad like never left the ice, but I bet that guy is tired game Six....

If the Kings had done that and still lost....They (might) have to play two more games. One being at home.....

Fatigue will be a factor in LA for Chicago, you can bet on that.

Doubtful. They have one full day of rest and most of Friday as well. Practices will be light affairs.

Now if they have to do an OT on Friday maybe you are right.

It will be for both teams, both teams were sucking wind in those OT's.

Fatigue is starting to set in on the Kings, Chicago look gassed two games ago.

The Kings played a good game, it took just about everything Chicago had to win that game...

I think you are overreacting to the fatigue thing, you really think Gaborik or Pearson playing 5 minutes more over 85 minutes is really going to crush them going forward in this series?

I'm sorry, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth seeing a line that hasn't been able to keep the puck out of the net all post-season matched up against Patrick Kane in OT with Slava and Mitchell out there as the D pair.

The Kings ended this game with the worst line and worst d-pair of the night out there against the two guys with the most jump all night in Kane and Saad.

If you play them, shelter them, start them in the offensive zone, play them with Doughty, play them when you are pretty sure Chicago is playing a bottom six line. Don't have them out there with Patrick Kane and be digging the puck out of your net three different times, with one of them being the OT winner.
