Makar making mcdavid his lil peasent
....
Nurse is definitely injured, but it does not absolve his mystifying decisions with the puck right now.Avs seem to be able to close this serie in 5 games (first I was meaning 6 games). Some of Oilers D are not up to par, maybe hurt ? Avs forwards are literally too fast for them.
Sakic did a fantastic job with Lehkonen and Manson.
It was too bad McDavid wasn't able to play last night, did he get injured?McDavid about to show Makar what generational actually looks like. Good 2 Games Avs, let’s see what happens in the next 2.
He’s been really quiet all series for his standards. The points in game 1 were nice but were also very fortunate based on his play, he’s been getting completely caved in from a possession standpoint.
I checked through his game logs and I don’t think he’s ever had a two game sample size where his advanced metrics look as bad as they do the last two games. He’s having a really rough time sustaining any kind of prolonged offensive zone pressure.
Nurse at 100% still can’t shut down the Avs, he more of an offensive defender
LMAOOiler fans saying Nurse is seriously hurt. Okay he is playing 20+ minutes. The truth is Nurse ain’t a top defencemen and never was. On a better defensive team this guy would be on the third pair.
I was thinking Devils and Flyer fans just have to be asking what if.Rumor had it the Devils were really considering taking him #1 overall.
Yea he’d be scratched by now on a good team, 3rd pairing is being generous.LMAO
Yeah. I listened to some of the Canada/Toronto based hockey media yesterday (yeah people are going to point out what a mistake I'm making listening to that stuff) and some of those guys were talking like it's going to be David Ayres vs McDavid. Frankie wasn't great in relief in G1, but if you just bothered to look up his stats you would see he's probably one of the best backups in the league. I believe the Avs can win the cup with him just as well, and today kinda showed why.Why is everyone thinking Francouz is a bad goalie? .921 career sv% (reg season) - only 50 something games spread over 3 seasons, but numbers are good. Legit question, I haven't watched him play much at all, but on the surface it just seems like "backup -> must be bad"?
he's clearly playing hurt...blame Woodcroft for playing him so muchYea he’d be scratched by now on a good team, 3rd pairing is being generous.
LMAO
Unless he has a brain injury it doesn’t excuse all the braindead plays he’s been making.he's clearly playing hurt...blame Woodcroft for playing him so much
Nurse at 100% means we can play the Avs top line on even terms and trade chances. Nurse injured means he just gets burned wide left and right b/c he can't hit or close gaps and just gets himself hemmed in before an inevitable brainfart leads to a goal against (see: the Kadri goal game 2, Nurse just in general game 1)Nurse at 100% still can’t shut down the Avs, he more of an offensive defender
25+ minutes a night against the other team's best players and has good analytics...this "he isn't that good" is absolute nonsenseWhile you're having a good ignorant chuckle, the guy you're laughing at is 100% right. Nurse at his best isn't that good.
Nurse played over 25 mins the past 2 years and over 30 in playoffs last year. You can also watch and see he's clearly much slower and not playing physical. He's a dumb player with absurd athleticism who relies on his tools to make up for positioning mistakes b/c he skates faster backwards than most forwards skate forwards and can bail out his own brainfarts by instantly closing gaps. Without his skating and strength he's just the dude whose always out of position and getting nothing done offensively.Oiler fans saying Nurse is seriously hurt. Okay he is playing 20+ minutes. The truth is Nurse ain’t a top defencemen and never was. On a better defensive team this guy would be on the third pair.
how the heck do you know how his injury is affecting him?Unless he has a brain injury it doesn’t excuse all the braindead plays he’s been making.
Kadri’s just so dirty that he causes other players to do dirty things for him. Same way he took out Binnington by forcing Rosen to tangle up with him.Apparently now, Kadri just being in the vicinity of a play means that he was the one that knocked off the glove. It defiantely had nothing to due with Smith swiping his glove and hitting Keith

Have also provided a link to a video format of the gif, so that you can slow down the moment to see that it is Keith that knocks the glove off. Cause all the bias against Kadri is going to come out when people think it's Kadri's stick that knocks the glove off
I’m not sure why I continuously keep seeing this posted. It's a shame that another year of McD's career is wasted with bad goaltending. How they didn't do everything humanly possible to upgrade in goal is a career-ending decision. Or it should be.
Because he threw a blind backhand pass up the boards? That’s just called making a braindead play, what kind of injury would cause him to make that play?how the heck do you know how his injury is affecting him?

How can anyone watch the game last night and think goaltending is what is failing Edmonton right now?
The oilers are leaking scoring chances in bunches. Colorado is generating a ton of chances off the rush, multiple odd man rushes, breakaways, shots from the slot, etc over these first 2 games.
They’ve allowed 87 shots in 2 games and probably over 50 scoring chances.
Not really. The top forward lines may cancel each other out. But the top pairing defense is still a massive miss match. Nurse might equal out Toews, but no one on the Oilers blueline comes close to Makar.Nurse at 100% means we can play the Avs top line on even terms and trade chances.
