Don't see how his IQ can be that much better than Suzuki and Hutson. If it is then he is superstar level.
I think his progression so far is how dynamic he is, when he has the puck it's more of his game than anyone else on the ice, but once he starts passing they're definitely elite.

Suzuki and caufield are smart in their ways and structured in NHL, demidov would make suzuki a 1C by a stretch

His IQ is much better than Suzuki’s. Hutson is a D so I won’t insist on this point, it’s apples and oranges. But I can say that Demidov plays a more complex game using more unconventional layer’s than Hutson’s.

IMO, while Demidov has all the tools to play as a dynamic C, his ability to get lost on the ice as a winger, only to reappear where the play had been heading all along, is something that would be lost if he played as a pivot.

Playing as a winger doesn't deny him quality pass options which he can exploit from that position s much as he would from a C role.

What I like from watching Demidov's highlights is that he isn't a one or two magic trick pony. Plays seem to develop organically from what is before him and little gets telegraphed, if any. There isn't much repetition and opponents genuinely have absolutely no idea what Demidov is about to do.

Special player.

Habs fans finally get a player worth something special.

having watched the Celebrini-Hutson show, I can say that I can not wait to see the Demidov-Hutson show next year, it's going to be epic.

I know slaf is up and down right now but the kid is tracking to becoming an ELITE winger in the NHL in a year or two, and I’ve RIPPED on him for a while
Now.
I'm not sure what tracking means.

He has to actually be a good hockey player to be one of the best wingers in the league.

We'll see how good of a power forward he can become.

But then what are Minnesota and Boston missing?

Minnesota are missing 15 million dollars in salary cap from the Suter and Praise buyouts. Boston were missing nothing. They literally had the best season in NHL history only for Ullmark to completely choke it away for them.
