He knows what he's doing when he's stating, "I'm sure the necessary people will look at that." Also goes on to say the principal point of contact was the head, but it's "not his call."

Woodcroft is pleading for the refs/league to look at nothing, meanwhile he has some assholes on his own team purposely trying to injure Avs players when the game is out of reach.
The league will look at what Kassian did too. The reporter asked him about the hit on Yamamoto and nobody asked him about what Kassian did to Byram, what do you want him to do? Not talk about it and talk about Kassian instead?

This series isn't over obviously. Edmonton has the high end talent and they need to abuse the last change to get McDavid/Drai away from Mackinnon/Makar. They just can't match up there.

The thing is this Avs team is good on the road. Like real good. I have a feeling we are going to see Byram's ascendancy into legit player these next two games. And my feeling is the Avs depth will be able to absorb the extra pressure and the top line is going to really get unlocked.

Does he usually bounce back from quiet games? I know the Avs stars can get frustrated and disappear once they get completely shut down offensively (at least in some other playoff series).
He usually does, and down 2-0 at home I expect a show from him tomorrow.

Still, it would take a lot for Edmonton to get back in this series. The Avs were on a different level last night.

Not a fan of Nurse and Kane's antics at the end of the game. You can't have zero intensity during the game and then rough it up in the last minute when the game's out of hand. Show that fire when the game is still competitive.

Always been a pet peeve of mine. When the Oilers lost the series to the Hawks a couple years back, Alex Chiasson—who had an abysmal series—threw a big hit with a few seconds left. I've never despised an Oiler more haha.

Guy is being paid nearly 10 million dollars for the next like 7 seasons to be McDavid’s friend

That's just completely wrong, pure misinformation lol. He's been on for 7 of the 11 Avalanche goals.

He's had a terrible series but he's also playing with a serious core injury, cut him a bit of slack. Last year he was our best player in the playoffs against the Jets, and until this series Nurse was 2nd in the league in playoff +/-.

The contract was obviously an overpayment, I'm not arguing that.

But he actually had a fine year. His shooting percentage fell back to the norm (even slightly below it), but that was expected. He was great under Tippett, but hasn't fully adjusted to Woodcroft's system.

He hasn't fallen off a cliff. I can't stand how people completely turn on players as soon as they get paid. Same thing happened to Trouba last year, and now we're seeing it with Nurse.

Nurse wasn’t that great before getting paid, that’s why people are laughing at the 9.25 price tag

Oilers fans using Nurse's injury as an excuse to why they're down 2-0 are conveniently ignoring the fact that if Doughty was healthy they wouldn't have even made it this far.

Even with Nurse healthy, this team isn't even in the same stratosphere as Colorado.
He isn’t that hurt. Oiler fans making excuses.

GM's went crazy that offseason and were handing out 8M AAV + contracts to upcoming RFA defenseman. The market was set before Nurse signed.

It's a bad contract though, he had pretty inflated stats from playing in the Canadian division and his shooting % was ridiculously high.

8m AAV is generous for Nurse, he's def over paid. But it seemed like the entire league was going stupid with those contracts given to dmen that year

He isn’t that hurt. Oiler fans making excuses.
Frank Seravalli said Nurse will need surgery in the offseason

Holy. I'm not saying he's worth 9.25 million.

All I said is that his play this year was still as a decent top pairing guy until this injury.
I never made the accusation that you said he's worth 9.25, I was responded to your claim that people are piling on him AFTER he signed that contract, which in fact people said the exact same before

It has nothing to do with “mentioning weaknesses”.

It has to do with your “there’s at least 5 players I’d pick before him” comments.

The guys been performing at a near historic level these playoffs before this ONE game.
I don't think it is outside the realm of possibility that some GMs would not pick McDavid first if there was a complete redraft of all NHL players both with cap considerations and without. I think he'd always be on the short list though of consideration for number 1 because he is a prolific scorer and the best driver of offense in the league right now, but there is a reason he usually doesn't get votes for the Selke. I would consider players like Barkov, Matthews, MacKinnon and few others so it's not completely ubsurd to say some people would value a better all around game better or a sniper like Matthews before McDavid, and there are as many as 5 of them one being on his team.
