All I’m hoping is whoever wins this series shits all over the eastern finals goalie so we can have people stfu about how “the east team will roll over the west champ”
No one is rolling over the Avs. Its the Avs year.

the Avalanche are down 1-0 in moral victories

this will be a serious challenge for them going forward

Someone clearly hasn't been watching the Aves before this series. We haven't won a moral victory in ages.

First Nashville beat us by having to play their backup goalie the whole series, then STL beat us by trying to outgoon Kadri...there is nothing nobler than fighting for a hopeless cause...and now Edmonton is going to beat us by trying to win without a defense.

With the way things have been going, we'll play tampa in the finals and every single one of their stars will lay an egg, guaranteeing them the moral victory as Nate & Cale lead us to four more meaningless victories on the scoreboard.

I'm not sure "they lost game 1 in another series" is a great argument for future team success.
The implication was that the Oilers wouldn't be able to overcome the Aves' going forward offense based on the score tonight. The truth is the Oilers have overcome worse.

Wild wacky game. Thought the Burkovsky injury hurt the Avs and the Oilers started gaining momentum from that point. Fun and entertainment game.

Draisaitl made some absolutely filthy passes tonight, just dropping dimes all over the ice.

Set Ceci up as well at the end but he shot it off McDavid and then the second time shot it off the Avs player being bullied on the ice.

Those Avs goalies will blow it. Francouz and who's the backup for him? Hunter Miska is what I found on google.
I'm dying to hear Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiska! Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiska! Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiska!

Joe Sakic should be fired for not find a legit #1 goalie. Every season Oilers fans talk about firing Holland and previous GMs about not finding a #1 goalie. I can't imagine what Avs fan think about Sakic.
You know he out bid Holland for Kemper right?

Every time I see the avs have a bad game .they regroup and put up a better hitting after. I hope to see the avs do the same thing. The avs are a lot more mentally tough this year then I’ve seen from them before. Take it how ya want

Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog, the thing dies and nobody is that interested...except for biologists; luckily for you, I am a biologist!

Since the Aves's blueliners being so dangerous in transition, while Edmonton's were so impotent, was what decided game 1; there's a delightful irony to Oilers fans continuing to not see the value of having blueliners that can move the puck from their own zone into the opposing one.
1.) You must not have understood the joke you were responding to.

2.) The Oilers have one of the quickest transition games in the NHL, behind the Aves mind you. I've notice a lot of Aves fans making statements about the Oilers that clearly indicate they don't know what they're talking about. Just...making things up. Very strange. Didnt see that with Kings or even Flames fans.

I'm mostly just riffing on how many poor passes the oilers blueliners made tonight...as that is the strength of our blueline, rather than breaking up the cycle, or sitting back in their own zone and blocking shots.

Your forwards are obviously deadly in transition...I mean you've got Leon, how could they not be?...but so many breakouts in this game were killed by blueliners that just couldn't put pucks on sticks.

Love all the Oilers fans burying their head in the sand when it comes to the 'offside goal' when there is literally video explanation that it isn't offside. In case you haven't seen it, here it is:

Very informative video. As a neutral observer, that rule seems a bit silly in that while Makar didn't touch the puck, he was clearly "in possession" of it. In a situation like tonight, it seems more like a technical loophole than the rule actually making sense. I see no difference whatsoever from practical stand point between Makar doing what he did tonight and keeping his blade in touch with the puck all the time. In both cases he's clearly in possession of the puck.

Doesn't make the goal bad and very smart play by him, but seems like with this rule also they should apply linesman's discretion whether the player is in control of the puck, like they do when you enter the zone before the puck, but with control of it.

Guess it's time to see if the Oilers can make adjustments from game 1 to game 2 like they did in the BoA. If they do it's probably going 7, if not then will probably be a pretty short series

This really covers it... with a pillow until it stops moving.
