Welp, I hold no grudges against the Oilers and the time is right for them to start adding post-season hardware to the trophy cabinets.

That said, I am a Colorado fan ahead of them, particularly when you have Calgary native and superstar-in-the-making Makar and perennial post-season juggernaut MacKinnon.

So I'm going to be cheering for Colorado but wouldn't be mad at either outcome.

Colorado in 5.

Hard Astrom manned Colorado nets in the 80’s. We’ll see something similar.

So Kuemper will let in a first shot goal and Bednar will come in and gank his ass out of the net?

I guess at least Kuemper isn't Swedish....but hopefully he can still be the Saskatchewan Sieve ;)

I have the AVS in 6 at most. Mike Smith is way too flaky for me to have any faith in him. He will be EDM's weakest link, in my opinion.

It is NHL playoffs anything can happen.

Both goalies are streaky, Smith is always is bad against Calgary but I don't think the same Smith will show up this series.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time these two teams met in the playoffs, the Oilers upset a very good Colorado team. Now that was an upset.
Ahhh the 90’s. Tight purse strings, hard work and all heart hockey for Edm. If today’s uber talented edition of the Oilers can channel any of that energy and will there is nothing that will stop them.

I remember. Still have the ticket stubs.

Not like they had their way with us during the season, we'll see.

Oilers tend to elevate their play quite a lot for good teams.

Regular Season (3 games):

Mackinnon: 3g 2a plus a shootout winner
Nuke:2g 2a
Landy: hurt, did not play
Rants: 2g 0a - missed 1 game
Makar: 0g 3a
Kadri: 0g 1a

Avs top guys combined for 7 goals, 8 assists for 15 points all while missing Landy, and Mikko missing a game. 15 points in 3 games sure seems like they had "their way"............

Amazing.

I'll never forget MacT saying how moronic Claude Lemieux was when he tried to chirp the Oilers after Edmonton's game 6 win by saying "now you have to come to our barn for game 7," as if that wasn't exactly the outcome the Oilers were hoping for.

This is going to be the first real test for the Oilers, will be exciting to watch. I just hope they're not 10PM starts (eastern time) Expecting the Avs to sweep, but let's see what McDavid/Drai can do against a top team. This isn't the Kings or Flames. I just don't see the oilers blue line being able to contain the powerhouse that is Colorado, that will be the difference to me. I think McDavid will be the highest scorer in the series but ultimately Colorados forward depth and contributions from the blue line will be the difference. From an entertainment perspective I expect this to be the best series so far, high flying teams lots of offence.
The games start at 8 (or 8:25) Eastern.

This may sound dumb to most hockey fans due to the season the Avs had but Oilers will take this in 5. We have the better team offensively. Defence is a wash and if you look at the goaltending of both teams in the last series', neither has an edge. Connor and Leon are playing better than anyone and don't see them slowing down. Sure we played LA and it took 7 games. Oilers didn't show up for a couple games. Calgary was suppose to smother us with their amazing defensive structure and goaltender...didn't happen. Mackinnon will get less than 5 points vs Oil, Drai with 10-15 points this series. Welcome to Edmonton, TBL.

I would’ve been super confident knowing this series was to happen after the 1st round. I still believe Avs will win but worried about McDrai going supernova against Flames, Kane and Hyman playing great hockey, Kuemper not looking sharp, top line having a hard time especially Rantanen, Makar not playing like the one we know and our PK being not good. Some of these things I said will probably go hot and cold I hope it’s for our sake

Colorado in six. I think this one is going to be closer than some expect but in the end I think Edmonton’s D gets exposed by the Avalanche and Smith lets in too many stinkers. Should be a fun series to watch!

Avs in 6. I’m going with the team that has the elite forwards and elite defence man. Makar will skate circles around any defenceman Edmonton has. Avs also have the slight edge in goal, Smith is definitely not to be trusted

This sounds dumb not based on the season the Avs had, but your absurd statement that the Oilers have a better offensive team and that defense is a wash. f***ing LMAO.
I could understand this statement if you were only watching the regular season but the playoffs are a different beast. Besides a brutal 6-8 week stretch, Oilers were a top 3 team all season and next level offensively in these playoffs. Avs can't match with the way Oilers are playing right now.

The Avs have only lost 2 games in the playoffs LMAO. The Avs were actually a top 2 team all season, not excluding 2 month.

The Oilers are a hard team to pin down. I thought they would have waxed LA and squeeked out a win against Calgary. Instead it was the exact opposite. Should definitely be an interesting series.

Playing a team with the depth the Blues have was perfect for the Avs. They earned every goal in that series which should help them going forward.

you're Oilers have 4.33 goals per game and 3.08 goals against vs the Avs 4.30 GPG and 2.70 GA, in what world can't the haves match?
