Oilers will really be in tough. Think the Aves in 4. My Leafs would have won in 6 against the Aves.

lol raise your banner in October

We havent a goalie to be trusted, you need one who can steal a needed game or 2 when you up against this stiff competition

Give up 2-3 early goals against Avalanche is even to much for McDrai.

Avalanche unfortunely in 6!

Oilers are a high event team and Kuemper hasn’t been good flat out. If you don’t have goaltending your going to have to outscore our big guns and so far no one is in the ball park of doing so.
I mean if you watched Kuemper in this series against the Blues, it's fair to ask questions about him. But c'mon now, let's not act like the Oilers are having the advantage in net. Calgary is not at Colorado level when it comes to offence.

Oilers have had easy comp and the West is garbage compared to the east?
Lol! The West had a winning record against the East. The Flames had one more point than Tampa and only four less than the Leafs so the Oilers had to play a good team as well. Cut the lame excuses.
You guys had your easy competition the last couple of years with Columbus and Montreal. Drawing a tougher opponent this year kind of evens it out.
Sooner or later you have to beat good teams in the playoffs to advance.
Anyways, this thread is for discussing teams playing in the Conference Finals not those eliminated in the first round, so let’s get the discussion back on point.

Mike Smith has one of the best save %’s in the playoffs despite some gaffs. Overall oilers team save % is .918 Avs is .900
The blues are the highest shooting percentage team in the league. The King's are the absolute worst and the oilers got to play them for 7 games.

The blues are the highest shooting % team because they got to play against Kuemper. Guy has not looked good.

Edmonton has been considered the underdog in all 3 rounds so far. It'll be interesting to see if the can keep pace. Colorado is an entirely different beast than LA/Calgary

This may sound dumb to most hockey fans due to the season the Avs had but Oilers will take this in 5. We have the better team offensively. Defence is a wash and if you look at the goaltending of both teams in the last series', neither has an edge. Connor and Leon are playing better than anyone and don't see them slowing down. Sure we played LA and it took 7 games. Oilers didn't show up for a couple games. Calgary was suppose to smother us with their amazing defensive structure and goaltender...didn't happen. Mackinnon will get less than 5 points vs Oil, Drai with 10-15 points this series. Welcome to Edmonton, TBL.

Dude... Look I'm all for fans having biases for their teams, but lets live on planet earth a little bit here here.

Regular season series means nothing. Ask the Predators.

I´m looking forward to a great series.

While you are very true, I think Nashville takes 1 game if they had their starting goalie. It's hard to compare that when one of their best players is out the entire series.

The last two seasons Avs have won 12 out of 17 games where Binnington started. Sure, he had a few hot periods against Avs this post-season but let's not exaggerate. Avs have 'solved' Binnington over and over again.

No argument from this Oilers fan. There is no comparison at D - so much so that the Oilers’ offensive advantage will likely be neutralized. Only goaltending seems to be a relative wash, with Smith much more likely to completely shit the bed from time to time.

Wait, I thought it was the Canadian Division that made us pretenders. It’s so hard to keep up with which teams are making us look better than we are.

It did though. Didn't getting swept in the first round make you look like pretenders?

The old ‘if’ argument. If the Blues had Binnington, if the Predators had Saros, if the Avs had Kadri last season, etc., etc.

You know who remembers injuries to a team’s key players in a PO series? Some die hard fan of the team that posts on HFB. That’s who. People forget. Injuries are, for better or worse, part of the game. We just remember the winner.
