I get looking for obscure statistics to support an opinion but, “Second most playoff assists in a series of fewer than 7 games by a defenseman age 20 or younger”?

Edit: unexpected simul-post!

He's also doing well in less obscure stats.

Quesnel, B.C.
Byram has played at a top pairing level ever since Girard went down.

Really happy for him, great to see young talent shine through. It wasn’t looking good when he stepped back from the game to recover, but he’s come back more effective than ever & hinting at what he was projected to bring.

Always cheer for players who can overcome adversity, no matter which jersey they wear.

Thanks for the info @Muffin.

Kuemper struggling wasn't a story until the 3rd period + OT of Game 5 against St. Louis. Remove that game and he's a .915 SV% in his other 8 starts.

He hasn't stolen any games for Colorado, but he crapped the bed hard in Game 5, and followed it up with a soft opening goal in Game 6. Hopefully he can move past that blip in Round 3.

How tf are you going to claim to be a neutral fan and then keep using the term "we" in reference to the Oilers.

As a neutral fan I think the Avs have already played their most difficult opponent in the west and thus I like their chances
I never did? I just said if I viewed this from that perspective Avs should win. If you want me to put in the word perspective fair enough but of course I am going to take my team lol. That is why I said EDM in 7 but COL if I was viewing it from that perspective they should win.

I don't get why you or @HugginThePost thought I was claiming to be one. I missed one word late at night okay lol.

Ultimately from a neutral fan's perspective neither of us are likely going to win the cup. If it goes as planned we will lose in 4 and then you guys will lose in 4.

I mean if you watched Kuemper in this series against the Blues, it's fair to ask questions about him. But c'mon now, let's not act like the Oilers are having the advantage in net. Calgary is not at Colorado level when it comes to offence.

It's all relative. All year Calgary was praised for it's defence, it's "best line in the league" with a Vezina contending goalie etc....where was it?

The Oilers were complete statistical anomolies against the flames this year. By far the most goals per game against them. Markstrom had an abhorent S% against them.

It all comes to how each team matches up to each other. There is a reason they are best of sevens and that is why I am looking forward to the hockey were are in store for.

Here’s how I look at it:

1st line - Advantage Edmonton
2nd line - Advantage Colorado
3rd line - Wash (both have the capability to perform but also the capability to disappear)
4th line - Advantage Colorado

1st D pair - Advantage Colorado
2nd D pair - Advantage Colorado
3rd D pair - Advantage Edmonton

Goaltending - Wash

Special Teams - Advantage Edmonton (both PP are great, but Edmonton’s PP vs Colorado’s PK will be scary)

Coaching - Advantage Edmonton

Uh, do you mean “fremdscham”?

Cringe is right. What’s the term when you’re embarrassed for someone who’s ****ing up a foreign word while trying to appear smart?
No kidding

Bro is talking like a guy who wouldn’t go to his friends wedding because it’s being held in a church

This may sound dumb to most hockey fans due to the season the Avs had but Oilers will take this in 5. We have the better team offensively. Defence is a wash and if you look at the goaltending of both teams in the last series', neither has an edge. Connor and Leon are playing better than anyone and don't see them slowing down. Sure we played LA and it took 7 games. Oilers didn't show up for a couple games. Calgary was suppose to smother us with their amazing defensive structure and goaltender...didn't happen. Mackinnon will get less than 5 points vs Oil, Drai with 10-15 points this series. Welcome to Edmonton, TBL.
Yea it does sound really dumb, because it is. Don’t act like the oilers are some big power house because they won over the flames. If I remember the flames put up 9 goals in the first games against this juggernaut oil team. Avs will give them all they can handle. Play stupid games , win stupid prizes!

A great matchup. The western conference style of play, currently, on average, is much more boring than the eastern. We are blessed to have these two teams at the conference final, the only two western teams that are watchable for non-hockey-purists and enjoyable for hockey fans in general.

Oilers will take this in 5.

Avs 1st line will have to match Oilers 1st line in point production if they want to win. If that is able to happen (which the Avs 1st has been hit and miss) I think the main difference of the series then, is whoever's team gets better depth scoring will be the victor.

As a Leafs fan, you certainly are an expert on pretenders.
It's quite the spectacle watching leaf fans like divine trying to downplay the Oilers as a pretender franchise. Let's do a quick summary on the Leafs, last cup win is 67 with only 6 teams in the league. Let's jump 12 years later to when the Oilers entered NHL Leafs no cups or finals during that time. Let's jump another decade now 22 years later Oilers have had 4 cups and been to five cup finals jump another 20 years Oilers sitting at 5 cups and 7 Nhl finals. enter the worst decade in Oilers history, but behold Leafs still don't even have a final appearance. The Leafs 55 long years no cups but even more embarrassing not 1 cup final, but rest assured their fans will pipe up on how other teams are pretenders. But hey we get to read great threads like how their series losses are so impressive. What a joke
