The Draisaitls in 2.

He managed to be the main cause of a goal against in only 9 mins of ice time.

True, but you expect an injury fill in to cost you a goal here or there. On the positive side he made more good plays than I was expecting and has been pretty solid outside of that painful mistake.

But yeah, hopefully Byram sees more & more PT in Girard's absence, as this postseason wears on.

Really? Because you’re proving you’ve never seen a series in your life.

Imagine pretending there’s a “right” way to play NHL playoff hockey, and then imagine it’s based purely on what a spare from HF says.
tbf the NHL clearly doesn't want to highlight the sport's skill in the playoffs, so playing a high skill game does make it harder for you to win a cup than if you play a muck-it-up / "they can't call everything" style.

So calling it the right way to play is really dumb, but there's definitely a style of play that the league favors in the postseason :dunno:

This is going to be the first real test for the Oilers, will be exciting to watch. I just hope they're not 10PM starts (eastern time) Expecting the Avs to sweep, but let's see what McDavid/Drai can do against a top team. This isn't the Kings or Flames. I just don't see the oilers blue line being able to contain the powerhouse that is Colorado, that will be the difference to me. I think McDavid will be the highest scorer in the series but ultimately Colorados forward depth and contributions from the blue line will be the difference. From an entertainment perspective I expect this to be the best series so far, high flying teams lots of offence.

Logically, betting the over in this series should be easy money...but since it's hockey and this sport is all about being annoying to bet on, I can't fight the feeling that this series will hit the under in every game.

If you want to double down on a bad take that's entirely your choice, but McDavid gets held, hooked, and the likes on a nightly basis and about 95% of it goes uncalled otherwise the opposition would be in the box the entire game. Crosby also went through this, and sure it was more prevalent, but they also called it almost twice as often. I pointed out some stats to back this up, you're telling me to go watch old videos.

Also have no idea why a Red Wing and Leafs fan are trolling in this thread trying to stir up the pot so much. You guys are certainly not putting a good look forward.

Is this starting already? Haven’t the Oilers had like 10 more power plays than Colorado this playoff?

Well, I didn't know St. Louis style pizza was a thing until two weeks ago. Maybe we just haven't been informed yet.

Edmonton: Do you ruin pizza too?

Edmonton has damn good pizza!

That's only cause we're always playing with a lead :naughty:

Kuemper and Smith are going to put on clinics and everyone is awkwardly going to try and justify talking about how absolute dogshit both guys are going into the series.

I hate that this is exactly what I expect to happen as well

Avs in 4.

Oilers going to realize they're not as good as the Pacific made them look. All 3 teams in the Pacific this year had a combined 0 playoff wins last year because they weren't able to beat up on each other. There's no contenders in that division. In any year, any team can win that division, especially if expansion kings of the Pacific Vegas falters.
Wait, I thought it was the Canadian Division that made us pretenders. It’s so hard to keep up with which teams are making us look better than we are.

Time to start liking the hometown team methinks.
I’m just cheering for a good series. The BoA was a pretty big let down, it lacked the physicality and emotion I thought it would have. Calgary just rolled over like an injured dog.

Colorado has some unreal depth so I’m curious to see if it forces little woody to dismantle the McDrai line that he’s been relying heavily on.

If Kadri plays like the Kadri we know, Edmonton really doesn’t have an answer for him. Kassian is completely neutered, Nurse would just take a dumb penalty. Kane has been too valuable to get into that kind of situation

It's simple. McDavid is only good because of Drai, Kane, & TBoobs. Drai is only good because of McDavid, Kane, & tboobs. Kane is only good because of Drai, McDavid, & tboobs. Barrie is only good because of Drai, McDavid, & Kane.

It's the eternal curse of having more than one talented player.

Avs is gonna slay all three picks from our incredible 2009 draft.

Duchene in the first round, ROR in the 2nd round, Tyson Barrie in the 3rd round.
Tyson Barrie is going to slay himself. MacKinnon will make him look like a walking pylon

Woody is a bawse’s boss.
I have no idea what that means, but you can have a like anyways
