Honestly I'm not as disappointed as I thought I would be.

In January we were out of a playoff position, now we're playing in the WCF against the best team in the league. Games 1 and especially 3 were close, but the Avs are clearly the better team.

I mean we beat the Flames in 5 games. Everyone's now acting like they were pretenders, but going into the playoffs most posters on here had them as a top-5 playoff contender.

This is by no means a failed season.
Step in the right direction. The battle of Alberta was an emotional series. I wouldn't pay attention to fans of teams that are already sitting at home though. It may be 3-0 but the Oilers could have stolen this game and game 1.

Avs showed a lot of class in the face of the Oiler goonery. Really impressed with this team, and I hope they can close this out in four. They played understandably rattled w/ the injury early and it has to be hard to adjust. Hopefully they can regroup and close it out!

Blues fans celebrating Kadri's injury in their subforum is just gross man, but not at all surprising at this point. They'll earn a reputation as one of the slimiest fanbases on here as time passes, which is a shame because they've got a handful of great posters too.

Gotta celebrate something after a pathetic exit like that I guess.
i dont see anyone celebrating his injury there

Gotta say I really don't get the criticism of Bednar, he's a hell of a coach and one of the 5 best in the game
He's gotten it for 3 years now from Avs fans even lol, the guy is a great coach.

As so many outside fans like to point out, we've led the league in penalties drawn yet every playoffs we have fans screaming that he should be throwing the refs under the bus in his pressers. I wonder why he doesn't? He knows that they get lots of calls and shaming the refs publicly isn't going to give them more.

He lets the creative players flourish and they can do as they wish but he still holds them to a standard defensively, he gives chances to young players if they deserve it, and is so even keel during the game. I'm not sure I've ever seen him riled, I'm sure there has been but they are very few and far between.

The only criticize I've ever had of him was his insistence on using Nemeth last year in the playoffs and it was a costly mistake to be sure. Avs fans say he never adjusts in-game but I think that is complete hogwash and just an echo chamber statement. The Avs are great at keeping their cool and coming back after being down, and the odd time they've laid an egg this year they've responded very well.

Blues fans love finding excuses. Colorado won this game without Girard, Kadri or Kuemper. That's their 2C, top 4 defenseman and their starter. What's St Louis' excuse?
wait are you comparing winning a game vs the oilers? oilers are only here as a direct factor of a terrible playoff format and a weak division. in a normal format, they would have been bounced in round 1. the real test comes in whoever wins the east as they will have elite goaltending and will be coming off a huge series win no matter who takes it. either a massive NYR upset or a TB series comeback. the worst thing for the avs right now is a 4 game sweep but by the same token, the longer this series goes on the more chance of people getting hurt. you really have to pick your poison at this point.

also the loss of Keumper is quite honestly a blessing in disguise for the avs. their goaltending is horrible but Keumper was playing brutal hockey. In fact, the only goalies worse than him were the goalies he played in the first 2 rounds (excluding Binner who was obviously outclassing him)

Do they even know its Kadri or did they just see the complexion of the injured player and start cheering.
