Brass

Hagelin

all had a great game.

But, where in the hell is Nash? This guy needs to step it up in the playoffs.

HM: Girardi (30 minutes of ice) + a beauty of a goal

That puck went in between Hank's legs and beat him, literally missed the net by an inch...

Best of 3, where the Rangers have the momentum. Ovie is looking frustrated, too.

Definitely looking good now.

I was able to get the main board to discuss actual hockey after last game. Not sure if it's going to be worth the effort this time around.

Washington did not forecheck as heavily early in this game. This allowed the Rangers to set up. They took a few dumb penalties, which hurt them. Taking a look at the yearly numbers, Washington is a very frequently penalized team. The Rangers are not.

That 1-3-1 power play they have is still fascinating to me. I'd encourage the Rangers to emulate it, but they don't really have a right handed shot on the left side like Ovechkin.

It would be nice if Torts would look at the game, and at the stats, and stop trotting Richards out there so much. He is being outplayed by Stepan and Brassard by a significant margin.

I'm actually seeing something about Nash that does not make me feel good. Being basically the only draw on the ice in Columbus, he became a one man show. And we all know that that does not really carry you too far, unless you are Bobby Orr.
The checking on stars is especially tight in the playoffs.

Maybe others have already formed this opinion. I am a bit disconcerted by it, though. I hope it changes.

I also gotta give HUGE props to Callahan. I've been hard on him lately and he had a great game looking like vintage, 2010-11 Callahan.
