Makes you wonder that if Kravtsov had simply stayed in the KHL for a couple of years after he was drafted by the Rangers, would he be a totally different player by now?

He probably would not be Canuck property now and would be out of sight / out of mind on HF Canucks.

Kravtsov's pro hockey career has gotten off to just as about as rocky a start as you can get. Hopefully he matures and puts all the turmoil and injuries behind him.

Four to six weeks with an 'upper body injury' sounds like some sort of shoulder problem to me......and sometimes those injuries can take some to heal. But fortunately a lot of hockey left to be played.

As bad as that sounds much rather that than a concussion.

Kravtsov is a decent longer term investment for the Canucks......After two years in the KHL, he's eligible to return to NA in the fall of 2025.

He was acquired for minimal risk, (William Lockwood and a 2026 7th round draft pick). And I see the Rangers didn't even both qualifying Lockwood.

So basically the Rags traded a former opt-10 draft pick for a 2026 7th rounder. Ouch!

Kravstov looks like a shrewd investment by the Canucks.....let him play a couple of years in the KHL and then review where he's at as a 25-year old.

I see Will Lockwood wasn't even qualified by the Rangers and ended up in the Panthers organization on what appears to an AHL contract. And the 7th rounder the Canucks gave up has a less than three percent chance of amounting to anything.

In essence, Kravstov was 'dumped' by the Rangers. Any time you can acquire a former top-10 draft pick for nothing, it's hard to argue with it.
