Kravtsov has enough skill to be a top6 forward in the NHL and doesn't have enough spirit to be even a 4th liner. If you could combine his skillset and Podkolzin's determination that would be a very good NHLer, but alas... At least Podkolzin can turn into good 3rd-4th liner, Kravtsov hasn't changed anything in his mentality since he was 18. He can be solid in a less tougher league, I'm afraid he has no chances in the NHL. Especially under Tocchet who isn't always happy even with Kuzmenko who's head, shoulders and torso above Kravtsov as a hockey player.

If this thin team wants to be a (*choke) contender in 2025, Kravtsov would need to be a top 9 option for them. Frankly, they have no other reclaimation project that has enough top end promise, factoring in cap hit and pro development so far. Hoglander running in a close second. If the only way to unlock him as a player is through a summer of Gary Roberts style special ops training, then hire a guy to wake him up every morning and drive him to the gym, and a chef to pump him full of proteins and MacKinnon approved good stuff. Give him one year to see if he passes Tocchet's fitness test. Sometimes with these rich kids... you have to literally point him the way.

Had his two strongest games as a Canuck in the last two.....absolutely zero luck around the net.....but carrying the play when he's on the ice, and is surprisingly good on the defensive side of the puck.

That line with Podkolzin and Dries is becoming tough for other teams to handle. Kravstov is trending well for the Canucks.

Kravtsov did absolutely nothing of consequence last night. He skated fast. He carried the puck a few times. But the plays meant nothing toward the end result. The most impactful was when he and Myers were lost in their own zone while SJ was playing keep away for about a minute.

4 centers, only 1 got injured and missed 2 games. Klim Kostin has also played center too. Kravtsov was their 1C because he was their best player and because he is good at center, not because other centers were injured nor because they had Covid in Dec 2018 - Jan 2019.

Bragin played Kravtov at center out of necessity because his generation is thin at C. Shen, Galimov and Morozov were the other centers. Shashkov is wing who played with Shen.

Ironically Kravtsov played injured during the tourney. All things considered he did very well, but I wouldnt consider him a natural center.

Yep. Kravtsov grew up as a child of wealth and privilege. Probably never had to work hard for much in his young life.

This manifests itself most in his lack of intensity and willingness to learn and change to get better. He puts forth effort in spurts, but never on a prolonged consistent basis.
At lower levels he can survive on talent alone, but not in the NHL.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I am curious about your analogy. What transformative engineering feat did Honda do, that changed how we drive in North America?
Well they are the first Japanese manufacturer to hit North America. They also brought in fuel efficient cars when American cars don’t give zero f*** about fuel efficiency.

Hi Alain. :sarcasm:

VTEC changed how we drive in North America? I never knew that, but then I owned a Nissan Maxima. Thank you.
Yes... If you've ever driven a small displacement enginee post 1990's, then it probably had some form of variable valve timing that was copied (in whole or in part) from Honda's VTEC system.

Every team has many of these guys, that just don't really make it.
Worth a try, if acquired cheap enough, but never count on them working out.

Previous posters have pointed out that Kravstov was one of the few Russian kids to grow up in wealth and privilege. Sources?

Was his father an oligarch or something?

Thank you for replying in detail when the OP was vague, I will seriously consider purchasing a Profet Keyboard product when the time comes up. No more posts from me on this topic.
