Question isn’t whether every team would want him. Rather is there any team that would? Would Ottawa (whose coaches know him) feel like he would be good vet to mentor kids and help take next step? Would Buffalo feel like he could help with culture change and be bridge until their young centers are ready? Devils also may see him in similar light. I don’t expect to get much, but do think he has real value a handful of teams who would be able to acquire him for very little.

I mean, it's 100% a given that not every team would want him. The point isn't "Well, all we need is ONE team to want him", but rather if there are two or three teams out there who would be willing to add salary, there's probably 15 or 20 that are wanting to shed some. So in any other year when the cap is going up, he's way easier to move. But now, there's gonna be better options out there, cheaper options out there. Unlike with Allen, where goalies out there are few and far between, there's a surplus of guys like Bozak out there and teams wanting to unload them. Non-Blues fans have been pretty clear about the likelihood of us unloading his salary, and I agree with them.

As a Habs fan who loves Dunn I would be willing to do our first round pick #16 + one of our backup goalie not named Primeau for Dunn + Allen.

Blues would take this and run! The salary of the backup goalie could be a factor, though.

Keep in mind Bozak also has a modified NTC. I have also read that he and his wife really like it in St. Louis. This makes it even more difficult to move him.

No. The Blues need to lose salary, not add it. The whole idea was Dunn as a sweetener for someone to take Allen. Adding Drouin's salary. or Domi's upcoming one, would be counter-productive.

Another thread had 8ova for dunn and a young prospect forward like kostin.

I think kostin and dunn are worth more but dunn and another prospect not kyrou or kostin could be worth it especially if we can draft jake sanderson. What are your thoughts

As tempting as the 8OA is, we are going to need the ELC's of Kostin and Kyrou, especially as Schwartz and Thomas need new contracts next year. I highly doubt Buffalo trades the 8OA anyway.

I heard a lotta good things about kake sanderson. They are saying he could be ready out of the gate. Big 6'4 skates extremely well. Even a rough guy. Any way. I def wouldn't lose kostin or kyrou but andronov, I would part with to get jake.

Just curious to what you have heard of sanderson.

I have read nothing but good things about him. I admit I haven't actually watched him yet. A minor concern is he is a LD. We are kind of logjammed at that position right now. Having said that, if we ever had the opportunity to draft him, we do it! I just doubt any other team in a position to draft him gives that up.

8oa isn't moving for something that isn't a young center.

Ottawa would consider Bozak.

In a recent thread Ottawa and Buffalo fans agreed in principle to a Tierney for Montour trade. What if that was expanded to get Dunn to Buffalo (they need LD) and Bozak to Ottawa as a veteran C replacement for Tierney.

Buffalo — > Tierney and Dunn
Ottawa —> Bozak (NTC) and Montour
STL —> ??????

Would AP sign for only 5 years though? Id expect that AAV of $8.5-9 milly you proposed to be accurate but on a 7-8 year deal. He'd be smart to lock up term and security vs chasing a shorter term deal when he might not command a 2-3 year deal at 35-36, because of age and decline.

The Blues and Doug Armstrong are pretty smart about not signing players to long term deals when they will be over 35 when the deal completes

Question for Blues fans: if a team was willing to take on Allen's contract, how important would that be in aquiring Dunn?
It seems like a window of opportunity for Montreal if that's what's required.

I imagine it will be largely irrelevent. Allen isn't a player that we'll find it overly difficult to move.

I pass on that as a Habs fan. Rather trade the Blues 2nd and two 4th's for Leddy who has 2 more years left and a good bridge to Romanov, Norlinder, Harris, Struble.

Interested in Dunn/Allen but my top offer is the Blues 2nd, Habs 3rd, Mete, and B- type prospects in Olofsson or Ikonen. If another team trumps that, I let them. I think we need to be careful with how Dunn looks on the Habs vs the cup contender in the Blues. He's a very good young piece but I'm not using our 16th pick on him.

Blues will look to make moves on draft day so they are free to lock up Pietrangelo. How many teams will be willing to make that move for Dunn/Allen on draft day? Not sure but the Habs certainly can help them out. If that don't work, I move to other options

Also curious to see how Kulak looks against the Flyers. He played well against the Pens and it reminded me of how he looked in the 2nd half of 18/19

Do we HAVE to take one of your backup goalies? Outside of Primeau, I prefer Husso (and in the future Hofer) over all Habs goalie prospects, so we don't really need one of those. I'd rather have you guys add another pick or a more useful prospect.

Unless you mean guys like Struble, Norlinder, etc. as 'B-type prospect' there is no deal to be made then unfortunatly.

It's a gamble, but I'm willing to roll the dice that we can, if needed, trade Dunn + a capdump for more then the Habs offer. On this forum alone we had fans from multiple teams offer quite decent deals.

From a habs fan... what would you guys want in exchange for him?

2nd+Fleury+Byron ?
This would end up costing the Blues more in cap hit than just resigning Dunn. If the Blues are moving Dunn its to free up cap space for AP. If they are adding cap hit and getting worse on defense it doesn't really make sense for the Blues.
