100% true....with the exception of AC Valhalla, which is a very special game (I just finished it btw).
Final grade A-:
+ some of the best visuals on and PS4 game, hands down. Its makes Witcher 3 look like a PS3 game.
Depiction of the English countryside has to be seen to be believed.
+ the main story (not even counting all the world event and other open world activities) is MASSIVE, huge,
compelling and engrossing. Basically your Viking characters has to go around making alliances with all these
Lords of England, some of whom are cheats, traitors, drunks, and other miscellaneous reprobates. Best story
since AC: Black Flag

- the game is riddled with bugs, the most annoying of which is that I couldn't complete the last quest in the main story
(I was too lazy to get it patched -- I'm sure its been addressed)
- a lot of imbalance with the skills and abilties. Some of them are god-mode, others are interesting and practical, but a lot
of them were pretty useless.

Nonetheless a tremendous effort here by Ubisoft. Highly recommended.

Now on to Ghosts of Toshiba...
Not sure if Ghosts of "Toshiba" was intentional or a mistake/typo/autocorrect but I lol'ed.

I still haven't gotten around to Valhalla yet. Waiting for the eventual $20 for Gold Edition sale

That's actually a plus for me. I was annoyed that the best sorcerer armor in Dark Souls II was ugly.

Battlefield beta is  ? Last BF I was played was 4. Probably why I suck
I think I’m too far out of the Call of Duty/Battlefield/Warzone/other shooter game to ever get back into them. They’re just not interesting to me any more and whenever I download them and get killed before my parachute can even open I’m thinking nah I’m good and delete it.

If the Call of Duty and Battlefield games weren't like 100GB downloads, I'd try them out. But I'm not in the mood to wait hours for them to download, then have to delete 4 other games off my SSD to install them, then wait another 30 minutes for them to patch and update every couple weeks as the file size grows even larger. Eff that.

Install size seems like a weird reason not to try a game in 2021. Unless you're still on an OG PS4, who doesn't have an extra 200gb to spare?

Even my xsx always has 400gb+ free.

I have a basic PS4 with a 1 or 2 TB USB external that I use for game downloads as the default, and a wired connection directly to the router, so that helps.

Regarding the CoD games I've never been able to get into them. I've tried a few and always quit within the first few missions. The "infinite warfare" one with weird space tech just set my teeth on edge immediately.

I guess I'm just not into the whole "omg this is SO chaotic so it must be fun" thing. Some games seem to go for that....lots of screen shaking, crap flying everywhere, bells and whistles and strobe effects. Seems like a bunch of flash that covers up other gameplay flaws to me.

PC gamer who runs any high demand/multiplayer game off my SSD. The latest COD MW peaked at over 200GB install size on PC. Not going to dedicate 200+ GB of a 1TB drive to a single game.

And, yes, my PS4 is an OG PS4.

Yeah, it does seem like it's: Spawn, run 2 miles, die, Respawn, run 2 miles, die, etc.....

I played Ghost of Tshushima all day to today...where have you been all my life! You could on and on about the terrific combat,
the perfect balance between conventional combat and stealth, but really, I think what I like most about it is the atmosphere
-- the feeling of being 13th century Japan. You can just see the love and care that Sucker Punch has put into this game.
Can't wait to play more.

My gaming friends won't shut up about Metroid Dread so I ordered it. I should be able to resell it for $45 or $50 when I'm done with it.

Need to finish Othercide before it gets here.

2TB M.2 and SATA SSDs, or even 2.5" HDDs, are cheap now. Time to upgrade your PC or console. It's not difficult. Games at 100GB+ are here to stay. Some will push 200Gb with updates and DLC.
My MoBo doesn’t support M.2, and it’s the worst time ever to upgrade a PC right now. Even if shortage relatively cheap, everything else is thru the roof.

Most games, including AAA titles, aren’t even coming close to that 200GB mark. There’s a reason Activision got so much shit for CODMW/Warzone being so large. And most of the reason they were so large was terrible optimization of language packs and content bundles. Other developers have that shit figured out. No other title hits 200GB (let alone the 231 that CODMW peaked at), with the biggest hitting around 150 (Hitman 2, FFXIV). The storage hogs are usually open world games and MMOs, with CoD games being the other big offender because they make zero effort to shrink install size. Most of the games I have installed are in the 20-80GB range. Most of the multi-player focused games (which, let’s be honest, is what COD is at heart) on PC are pretty small. LoL, DotA2, Rocket League, Fortnite, and Overwatch are all in the 20-30GB range. I’m not removing 10 other games or updating my PC just to fit one poorly optimized title.

At 200GB, it's less common, but 100GB plus is definitely here.

You don't need a M.2 drive for gaming. Get a 2TB SATA SSD for about $150. Get a couple of them, at that price. You can clone your current drive right onto it and replace it as the root drive... and the same process applies for consoles. They're very receptive to DIY updates.

Unlike GPUs, which are incredibly scarce, there is no supply chain issue right now with SDDs and M.2 and HDDs. Order today from Amazon and it will arrive as early as tomorrow. I can order a M.2 right now and they'll deliver it between 7am and 11am.

When supply chains and pricing issues make a computer replacement or new build impractical, focus on quality of life upgrades for your current rig.

I know that you can game off a regular SSD (as I said earlier it’s what I game off of). I’ve built my own PCs forever, so I know how to replace and clone HDs as well.

But it ain’t worth dropping $150 on a HD just to play a poorly optimized game like COD. There are very few games I would drop $200ish on (new HD and cost of AAA game). It’s not a value proposition that makes sense, when I can still get value out of my current set up and other titles.

Trying to figure out what to play next. I think it might be AC Valhalla but willing to take suggestions. In all likelihood I’ll get pretty lubricated at the game tonight and spend a bunch of money on games I don’t need to buy so let’s hear what I should needlessly buy tonight!

I've been telling you and @g00n since both of you guys couch co-op play, you guys need to play It Takes Two.

Anyone that online co-ops or couch co-ops, it's pretty unique in that category.

I'm probably going to be working on FC6 for quite a while from the look of it. Need to find more gaming time.

Standing on a water tower in the middle of a fuel depot and lobbing a grenade into a crowd of 6 guards is strangely satisfying.
