Metroid Dread is great so far. Some of the controls are a little bit weird, but it's scratching the Super Metroid itch that I hoped it would.

Speaking of Metroidvanias, has the been any news on the new Hollow Knight? They announced the sequel like 2 years ago and I haven't heard a peep about it since.

I still have to play the first Hollow Knight (Voidheart Edition). I love metroidvanias, is Hollow Knight really that much of a must play?

Yes, even if you weren’t the biggest Metroidvania fan it’d be worth it. But since you are I think you’d love it.

I just want to say that I am having a blast playing Guardians of the Galaxy. I haven't laughed out loud this much during a video game in a long time. If the Guardian of the Galaxy movies are up your alley, this probably will be too although its not the MCU GotG. It's been a lot of fun.

Not a good start with 2042 for me. On my primary gaming pc (3080/55" LG Oled C1) attempting to start the games cause the pc to reboot. It did run ok on my Alienware M15 with a 2070. That said for some reason there is no server browser. Would sit there like 5 minutes and suddenly a map would start and I'm the only one in game so ran around capturing points on the map and level up to level 4, hah.

How is the C1? Been looking at it along with the Sony A80J. (55 inch)

The Sony seems to have better picture quality of the box and maybe better motion handling & upscaling, but only two 2.1 ports and lack of gaming features (even with promises of updates)

The LG has better gaming features, but the image quality isn't as good out of the box and not quite as bright. Is calibration worth it or necessary for the C1?

The C1 has been great so far. I like how the gaming mode settings are all centralized versus the CX previous year. I do recall seeing rting ratings for the Sony oled panels and comparing them to the LG ones and I do recall it would get dinged on the gaming rating compared to LG.

Decided to with a 55 inch C1, arriving on the 1st. Just got back from Best Buy about an hours ago, couldn't believe how empty it was. As for sound, going with the Vizio M-Series 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos Sound (M512a-H6). $500 on Amazon

I've logged 33 hours so far on 2042 it's not bad

of course it's buggy and glitchy but I'm still having fun. Most of the grievances are pretty minor like only having 9 avatars to choose from in game. And they're all on the other side too. So you'll run into your clone on the other side, can't even tell if they're friendly or not because of course they don't have factions.

Definitely going to get drunk and buy a bunch of stuff on Black Friday sale from the PS Store that I’ll never play. A tradition unlike any other.
Every year they throw nhl up on black Friday for 30 dollars and this time is around when the actual rosters drop. With custom rosters available in December it may be worth a purchase

What kind of cable are you running from your pc to the tv? Looking a 2.1 cables but not sure what's legit

Has anyone here played "Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire"? If you have, would you recommend it (roughly $20 on Amazon)?

Haven't played PoE 1 or 2 yet, but I heard if you love the Baldurs Gate games (1 & 2) you will love the PoE games. Basically a modern day take on them. Heard they are really good if you like those kind of games.

I've done all the Baldur's games and my wife's played the PoE titles. I recommended the latter here before.

Got probably a couple thousand hours in that one..actually just short 1900.

This happens 4x a year for Steam users.
Steam sales haven't been nearly as fun since they stopped the daily deals after they decided to allow refunds. They're still worth checking out, but it's not the event it used to be.

And I find that the best deals are on games that are already on GamePass, or deep discounts elsewhere.

C1 arrives tomorrow, been rearranging to furniture to get it on the wall. Unfortunately, Amazon sent the wrong soundbar so I had to return that. On the plus side, Best Buy had a better system on sale (LG-SP9YA), so I went with that.

Nice! What size did you go with?

I've always been curious how the premium soundbar setups are. My only experience is with a somewhat budget one I helped my parents get for their main TV setup.

I believe my my beloved Kuro Elite receiver is dieing. It keeps cycling starting up then down then up then down. Finally after a couple of hours it stayed on for good. Not going to go so premium on what I spend on this one trying to stay under a grand but mainly want to have something as future proof as possible.
