Despite my avatar, I haven't really played video games in any consistent capacity for ~4 years. This is mainly due to the birth of my children - I just don't have the time to do everything I used to do.

However, my 4-year old son has recently stumbled upon Super Mario and Mario Party videos on youtube. So Wednesday, I pulled out the old Wii and hooked up the New Super Mario Bros for him to try. He died quite a bit, and got super frustrated after about 5 or 10 mins of playing, but he had a blast. When he went to bed, I loaded it back up and my wife and I ran through a few of the levels. It was a fun - I certainly miss video games.
I started playing again once I had kids, but I am a night person. I usually get on after everyone goes to bed so I sacrifice sleep. It isn't a recommended solution by any means, but a nice way to relax and hangout with others since I rarely go out.

We got the kids into Wii games and it has been fun. The boys love playing super smash brothers. I haven't joined them yet because I don't want to deal with the fallout from their complete obliteration. They beat up on each other and level 1 and 2 CPUs

I’m caught in a pickle. Do I drink some more coffee and stay awake for work or do I lay down for a nap and possibly sleep for 10 hours?
Try both and see who wins

Dude, I can't do late nights anymore. I'm asleep by 9:30-10 most nights. I'm sure if I played video games I could stay awake, but I like to wake up early, around 5-5:15, for my alone time. Kids get up around 6:30-7, so I could play then, but I like to wake up, have a coffee, catchup on the news, this site, and a few other sites I frequent as well.

Does anyone play board wargames like the old Avalon Hill games: Gettysburg or Waterloo?

Does anyone play Advanced Squad Leader [ASL], with its 200 pages of rules. Beef would love it since it does have armored trains.

If curious go to boardgamegeek.....it has both war and fantasy games

I played until 9 am. Worst idea I've ever had.

These cards are juiced. And I’m not talking Sosa/McGwire. There’s so many 95-99 cards early game with this WBC program.

It isn't a recommended solution by any means, but a nice way to relax and hangout with others since I rarely go out.

Yeah I had a full team of 90+ diamonds an hour after release. I'll probably just stick to Battle Royale this year. The thought process of releasing 99s Day 1 was a good idea in principle, but they released too many imo. Between those and Captain boosts, everyone is going to have a God Squad. Kinda takes the enjoyment out of it when you are just playing maxed out players everywhere.

So far so good. She's in a little bit of a sleep regression but otherwise, she's an absolute angel for 95% of the day.

And yes Staratette PayPalTown.
SPT it is. Glad to hear that man. 11lbs seems to be the magic number, or was it 14, for a good nights sleep. There will be a point she regresses to sleeplessness around 9 months but it’s “short lived”

Just to quickly kill your hopes and dreams, my Mom loves mentioning how incredibly well behaved and polite I was as a kid and how she could take me anywhere with absolutely zero worry of me misbehaving or causing a scene.

So...

Your mom is lying because she doesn't want you to feel bad. You were a miserable little shit and I had another baby solely to drown out the memories of you growing up.

Signed,

Dad, awake with new baby at 1230

We already know exactly what D4 is. The combat will be fun for a couple of days. Then people will realize there's zero meaningful depth to itemization or character building and most will be done with it after one character or playthrough. Then they'll return every once in a while and repeat the exact same cycle.

Everyone will either love or hate the forced multiplayer aspect and no one will change their mind.

First impression of beta is that it's off to a vastly better start than D3 was.

Nothing revolutionary. Solid.

Don't listen to this guy, @Starat327. My daughter turns 5 in two weeks and her sleep regression has lasted 4.5 years.

I've been doing a sorcerer named Tumor. If you move and position well, things go nicely. Lose track of things and get caught in a spot without evade or teleport ready, and you start getting crunched. That's just on normal. Seems fair enough. I can see melee classes being a slog against mobs, since you have to run into the mess and take damage.
