I've been playing the show 20 and downloaded 23 Friday night. Pitching with the bumper is almost impossible. I have no idea what I'm doing

Yeah The Show is brutal on regular TVs, especially the bigger ones.

Pinpoint?
I guess? You have to like move the bumper in a certain motion and then I guess return it to the starting point? I only played for about 5 minutes because between the download and install it took about 2 hours. I have to try it again.

Yeah, pinpoint. It takes a while to get the movements and timing down but is the most rewarding and less random than the other mechanics. I was reluctant to switch for the longest time but finally did and haven't looked back. Just Youtube pinpoint tutorials.

Depends what you mean by everything. I've logged an insane amount of time.

I'm like 50%+ through all of the Team Affinitys. Did WBC, all of the showdowns, all of the conquests (sans the US map), all of the mini seasons. Hit all of the the pack/card thresholds for Ranked and Events. Currently going for the Set 1 collection so I can get Trea. I'm like 20 away. I love Co-op but not getting PXP for players is brutal. The games take so long, once you hit the innings, it's a bit pointless.

The live series collection is pretty much down to getting lucky on diamond pulls. I got Trout a few days ago. I'm not paying these prices to complete the collection this early. There are enough good cards out that I don't need to chase Sosa yet.

Yeah, I think that's what I'm going to do when I get the time.

Jesus. I’m 16-3 in event so I need to finish that (usually I rip that immediately and re-sell), but I did everything else besides Affinity. I made sure to grind for Devers first, at like 25-40% for rest. I just grinded co-op for ranked instead of solo since my buds love it.

I have like 60 cards for the Set 1. How the f*** are you at like 90-100? Some good live series pulls and sold them? Honestly, I think I’m going for Sosa. I figure I need another 350-400k stubs. I don’t put real moolah in though.

Yeah I crushed the Event. I was like 25-3 at one point. It kept resetting for some reason so I couldn't get the streak rewards but I was getting easier matchups so I wasn't complaining too much.

Devers is stupid. I'm hitting a legit .700 with him. Bombs galore. I'm 9-0 in solo ranked and have no urge to go much further than that. I can already feel the sweat.

Grinding lol. No money here either. The last 20 cards are going to be a nightmare unless they drop new programs soon. I just did the Team Affinity mini season last night for the vouchers and it took forever. Don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.

Sold a couple. Goldy was a big pull. That was like 70k. Haven't sold much outside of that. Contemplating selling Trout. I had a sell order in on release day but the price dipped and he never sold. I have the USA Trout like everyone else and I don't need McGwire or Jeter. USA Trout is only set 1 so he will be out of the rotation, but I probably won't be grinding much past the first two set seasons anyway.

I can’t believe I’m asking this, but are there any good YouTubers to watch to get better at pitching and batting?

Speaking of wonderful sports games, I’ve been grinding the FIFA Ultimate Team Birthday event and collecting tokens for the rewards. I figure I really need to do this because I started playing the game like 6 months late and everyone else has overpowered teams right now, which is impossible to play against. So if I can just get at least one really good player out of this, it’d do a lot to even the playing field.

You do daily and weekly challenges of various difficulty to collect tokens, up to somewhere between 30 and 35 over the course of the event if you do everything possible. Then you can spend them on whatever reward you want. Anything from small 3 token player packs to a decent 20 token Icon player (retired legends with high stats), to the ultimate reward where you spend 27 tokens and get to pick from one of four random Icon players.

So I pick that. And of course all four of the players I was given to pick from are unplayably bad and significantly worse than my f***ing backup bench players. I’m talking 70 pace, 40 shooting, 60 passing, fodder.

To put it in Flyers terms, I should have been given four good options and been able to easily get one player somewhere within the Voracek to McDavid range. Instead, my best option was an untradeable, unsellable, Rasmus Ristolainen.

I’m f***ing heated.

OK the first few hours of No Man's Sky can be grueling, especially with an overzealous friend or two trying to rush your ass before you've done literally ANYTHING. Going at my own speed and upgrading my multitool in particular has made things much easier.

What’s the best use for stubs and what’s the best way to earn them?
I have a feeling packs are a trap

First off, download the companion app — it’s way easier to manage everything. Never buy pack bundles (the exception is certain limited time packs with tiered pulls).

Earn them? Just play the game. For you, I think that’s better offline at the moment, so conquest maps, etc. Hope to get lucky with your pulls. The real way is to demolish weekly events and sell the cards ASAP — there’s rewind packs each week to get the previous cards you sold. You’ll get smoked in Ranked probably, but it’s also innings based rewards, so anyone can earn them.

What to do with the stubs? Depends how invested you are. If it’s just casually, I wouldn’t even buy live series cards for collections. They release enough quality cards for 10-30k stubs each that you could a la carte that shit, especially if you wait for the prices to lower. And honestly if you just do the programs, you’ll get perfectly usable cards.

Well, using a 50 inch TV is brutal. But use strike zone 1 camera — it’s way easier to track the ball out of the hand. Always use the normal swing (can do contact swing too, if you’re desperate). Try to slow your thumb down and not get jerky.

For PCI, whatever floats your boat. I just use a middle fishbowl, nothing else. I find it intrusive. Experiment.

You’ll learn quickly what pitches you struggle with, you’ll notice opponent tendencies. Personally, I like to start high-middle inside, or keep my PCI on the pitcher’s hand. Inside sinkers are the meta to end all meta. If you’re offline, I’d stick to veteran difficulty, then work towards all-star.
