If it’s anything like the first game it’s more akin to a dark souls type game with more platforming and some puzzles tossed in.

Played a few hours last night with a friend, and I had fun. I'm a fan of Arkane, and it feels like an Arkane game for sure. A few minor annoyances, like picking up loot is sometimes finicky. I'm sure the optimization and fixes will come. But I do like the balance between combat and exploration. I like the atmosphere and world. I like Arkane's tendency to offer you many ways to complete tasks or to accomplish anything, really.

I feel like reviewers just like to hear themselves bitch and moan for the sake of it. "30 FPS?!?!?! IN 2023?????? UN-AX-SEPT-A-BULL!" Chill out haha.

You know what would be awesome? A satire review channel that reviews reviewers in the same way they review games and movies and music. Useless lot, the bunch of 'em.

Just finished The Last of Us Part II

This was a gut-wrenching video game. Very good…but f***. Brutal story. In a good way. The cycle of violence just brought poison, agony, and needless suffering to practically every main/major character. Joel dying the way he did was horrifying. However, what he did to protect one person was also horrifying. I’m more sympathetic to Abby at the end of the game now. Ellie is so monumentally damaged. That last fight with Abby was horrific. Can’t say any other video game has had me in my feelings as much as this one. It was so good though. So, so good.

I honestly felt the complete opposite. I thought the story was hollow and soapy bullshit. Supposedly smart characters making stupid ass decisions over and over again to continue the narrative they established in the prologue and add “shock value”. It felt like the entire game that the narrative drove the characters actions instead of the other way around. Beautiful graphics and they improved some QoL issues gameplay wise but the story fell completely flat to me. I’d give it a solid 6/10, glad I played through but doesn't live up at all to the masterpiece that is the first game.

i'm a bit late on this, but recently finished up the Resident Evil 4 remake. best game i've played in recent years. very faithful to the original.

also, Redfall is a steaming pile of dog****. i love Dishonored and Prey, two of my all-time favs, but damn is Arkane on a massive downward spiral. ever since Colantonio left everything they've done has been mediocre or just plain terrible.
