OT: Video Game Thread Part VII

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I honestly haven't looked into it too much but maybe I should. I have a fair bit of experience with VMs and dual boots on my Linux boxes, so maybe it's an option. Though from the little I know about Parallels, I think it's fine for older titles and more recent indie or AA titles, but I think it would struggle with AAA (at least in a VM).

If you have run Linux and not deleted everything including your soul, you can easily handle Bootcamp. You shouldn't worry about that aspect one tiny bit.

No, Xbox is a massively bigger 6s community than PlayStation. Some people play both systems, but all the top players are primarily on Xbox, with the better and deeper talent pool. It’s not even close. Everyone already switched to Series X this year, so nothing would change.

Couldn't care less about the EA NHL franchise. I was more talking about the game catalog in general for PS5 atm

I don’t think he did? I’ve taken seasons off this year, but I play(ed) in the NHL LG.

Their servers are a disaster as is, so I’m quite alright with not doing cross platform. As I said, it’s heavily shifted Xbox anyway.
 
Haven’t played a “new” computer game since the last Football Manager, & I didn’t end up playing that too much.

But I *am* looking forward to Two Point Campus which is released next week. I’ll definitely be playing that one.

I heard about Lex Fridman for the first time today.

I listened to one of his podcast interviews for the first time today (with Dr. Garry Nolan).
