I'm also a lefty but I always use ambi mice with thumb buttons on both sides. I've had good luck with Steel Series Mice. Had a Sensei Raw for a long time and I like it. WASD though, not arrow keys.

Don't let your dreams be dreams. I picked it up myself, and it seems to do a good job of following in the footsteps of the first game.

It also may be the single most beautiful video game I've ever played. I'm only a few hours in, and I'm constantly being distracted by the skyline.
Quoting my own post because just look at this. It’s gorgeous. I don’t know the last time I just stopped and watched a sunset in a video game.

Do you generally enjoy colony sim / survival / base building type of games?

If so, then definitely.
I don’t know?
I like base building but “Minecraft” base building where I have free reign to build shit and no upkeep to worry about.
I’m sure I have played something “close” to this in the past but I’m drawing a blank on it.
The most recent base building I can think of is fallout (4?) and I think that was universally hated.

i wanna buy it..Rimworld that is..but not for 35 bucks on Steam nor the 40 that it is on Xbox

also unsure if i wanna get the new Saints Row that comes next week

There’s a fair bit of micromanagement, especially at first. Eventually it becomes more fluid.

But the core of the game is the unique narrative that each new game brings. The emerging stories are fun, absurd, sad, dark, peaceful, violent, all at once. There’s the story of your colony and also for each individual colonist.

There’s a ton of freedom and depth, a ton of replayability, and an amazing modding community.

Those who like this genre of game generally love it. I’m one of them!

Rimworld is great.

You either die the hero, or live long enough to relentlessly torture an enemy pawn because they killed your favorite colonist during a raid.
