Best game ever! Will repeat! Story line isn't predictable! I really enjoyed it when she stood up against the evil male patriarchy!
Brother guy. I think you're a little off your rocker here. I also don't really care to play games with female leads since I'm a guy and feel a bit disconnected by it. That said, if the game's good, the game's good. Also, they're probably going to do it like GTA 5 where you can swap characters on the fly for guys like you and I who have small dicks and can't stand the sight of strong female leads.

Be honest with yourself. When the game comes out and gets rated 10/10 from pretty much every reviewer, your values will go out the window as you put on your pink sunglasses with blue light filter lenses and sit your bum down on the couch for a long GTA 6 play session. Rockstar's got us all by the balls man, accept it and embrace eternity.

I don't get the extension of one's self in video games... yeah there is some immersion, but we're not in the old west, we are not mass shooting criminals (or at least I hope not), we don't fly around space, we don't F actual bears (hopefully)... they are video games. Not serious life.

I don't appear to be alone. Looks like the Marvels didn't fair that well. And I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest the new Star Wars trilogy around Rey is also going to tank.
In a hyper realistic game about the criminal underbelly of American society...I'm sorry but I'm not gonna let some chick talk down to me or take point, following her lead like an idiot. That's not realistic.

There are many things I’d call the GTA series, hyper realistic is not one of them.

Yes it is hyper realistic what are you talking about? This isn't cyber punk 2000 based on some fantastic futuristic environment. Look at the art. Look at the content. Besides being a technological show piece...of course it's trying to be as hyper realistic as it can be while still living in the game world. Meaning you can die and respawn.
The world needed more queef jokes! We just didn't know it. (I'm married with children, just fyi...)
It is a game where you can commit mass murder and the wanted level just goes away. Looking realistic doesn't mean it is hyper realistic. The game series is a satire on American society... it is not striving to be realistic at all.

The extension of oneself is EXACTLY why they are pushing a female protagonist in everything. That's the entire point. The problem is that like it or not, your player base are mostly male.

Personally, I can't wait for it. These games are the equivalent of popcorn flicks for me. Occasionally you just want to go **** around a bit and this game gives you plenty of that. Last one was amazing (although not my favourite one!) and I'm sure this one will be as well.

your player base, like it or not...is always going to be majority male. that's just a reality.
Then following this logic, the proliferation of female leads is not to be an extension of oneself considering the majority playing will be male. Therein lies the contradiction.
