I bought this the other day. 2033 was great, Last Light felt like it was made by people who loved 2033 but didn't understand a thing about it.
I tried starting 2033 Redux last night.. man it feels so clunky after just spending 50 hours in Exodus

The God of War DLC is exceptional, wow. Only a few hours in and I've been treated to story moments that are at least on par with the main game. The roguelite elements are addictive, fun and implemented really well for a studio that's never done it before, too. I can't believe that it's free.

Palworld is a good time. I see why it's taking the internet by storm
Since it was on gamepass I gave it a go. I've been pleasantly surprised by it so far. Being able to capture and slaughter other humans gave me a very good laugh. Also, being hunted by the police was very unexpected the first time. I'm not very far yet, but I get the feeling that it would be more enjoyable with friends. Either way, seems like a perfect time killer until Like a Dragon Infinite wealth comes out.

Games I played and beat this year:

-Hogwarts Legacy
-Starfield
-SpiderMan 2

I loved each of them for different reasons. Starfield has some replayability with the NG+ feature; so far I've been able to continue SM2 after beating it (and good lord was that game a BLAST); but I've not yet revisted Hogwarts Legacy. I don't believe they've planned any DLC with it, but I've thought about going through it again and playing it as a different House.

It changes one single quest and I think there’s an extra one if you play as Gryffindor. If you’re interested in a second play through that makes sense but if you’re hoping for a new experience it really won’t change much.

It’s a fun enough game if you’re a HP nerd. I was disappointed the Houses were fairly irrelevant. Exploring and getting into some of the lore is really the best part though. The relationship quests especially Sebastian and Poppy were the most interesting stories. If you’re not into HP I have to imagine it’s quite a mediocre game.

They are making a sequel so I hope they focus more on doing more in/with Hogwarts. Would also be best to expand it to London/Diagon Alley at the beginning instead of the endless relatively pointless hamlets.

I may or may not go through with it.

Big reason not to would be due to the amount of f***ing GIANT ASS SPIDERS this game has, and as someone who utterly hates them, I hated have those goddamn bastards spring up out of nowhere.

There is something called ‘Arachnophobia mode’ in the accessibility settings that I have no idea what it does but I would hope at least stops them from jumping out of nowhere

Edit: Apparently the answer is makes them look hilarious like something out of a 90s Nintendo game

I swear my wife found it absolutely hilarious that I would be downstairs playing the game on a random-ass Saturday afternoon, and then she'd be upstairs, perhaps in our bedroom putting away the laundry and she'd hear me scream because one of those bastards came out of nowhere.

She'd hear it and just yell down

"Spider?"

Me: [meekly] "Yeah...."

2023 was a brilliant year for games. Hopefully 2024 can continue that so this gen isn't a complete bust.

I just found out this weekend that the new Prince of Persia game is a 2D side scroller. Was hoping for more a true 3D experience but will probably give this a go regardless.

I really haven't looked into upcomming releases much, are there any in particular you are looking forward to?

The new Like a Dragon, Elden Ring DLC, Hades 2, Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remake, Stalker 2, Hellblade 2, Star Wars Outlaws, and Indiana Jones all look interesting to me. I'm sure there is a bunch more out there.

I’m tempering too… but if those hit, they could be amazing.

I’m also hopeful the next Switch will release in the fall and Nintendo normally has a banger or two in the release window.

Too add to Henchy's list, I'm also looking forward to Persona 3 remake, Dragon's dogma 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Visions of Mana, and the one I'm most excited for (after infinite wealth) Avowed.

I kinda thought the recent look into Avowed looked shitty. I typically love their work, but I wasn’t at all impressed

Agreed on all fronts. Can't wait for IW. I started a server to play with some buddies and we had a really good time. Played just enough to hook me, so I ended up playing playing solo almost all night after. The building, catching and work assignment mechanics are super addictive.

I started Zelda: TotK and so far I am on my third shrine and for the moment I will describe it as an exact sequel to BotW. Nevertheless, I am still very much enjoying this one and I love the new hand elements and story (something new that isn't just Ganondorf)(so far).

What is the best way to increase my stamina wheel? I remember that it was brutal to have it low in the beginning stages of the first game.
