Oh and the Ancient Power spots are great, unlocks more uses (great for bosses or just wrecking a formidable foe :D ).

I'm level 27 but only on the 2nd Keeper Trial (have yet to start), but that's because I like to go around and do side stuff. Sometimes explore, sometimes just unlock Floo gates... etc... The NPCs are level matched it seems, so when I go in I'm sure the boss will be level 28 or 29 lol

I've still got a lot to learn about the game.

I just got done with the Jackdaw/Cave quest (with those GOD-f***IN-AWFUL spiders all over. FUUCK, you Avalanche Software lol); and the broom-flying initiation.

Just finished Horizon Forbidden West. Didn’t realize until the credits that was Ashly Burch.

Which game should I play next? I’ve already played Ragnorok. Not really into the grind heavy games as I work a lot.

Horizon and God of War are a very specific type of game, the Sony cinematic experience (which I generally like, don't get me wrong). Are you looking for similar? Or are you open to other genres? Thoughts on indie games?

I just picked up the Commandos 2+3 HD Remasters. Pretty excited. Haven't played those in years

I guess it would be easier to list a few I’m considering.

Last of Us Part II - loved the original, but the mixed reviews kept me away from trying the sequel at time of release

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart - always find these games a fun play through

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland - only had a switch up until recently plus I loved the Borderlands games writing and gameplay

I've played the first two of these.

The original Last of Us was one of my favorites in the PS3 generation, but I did not enjoy the sequel for various reasons (spoilers, so no details). I had trouble finding the desire to even finish it, and this rarely happens for me. Best I can say about the game is that it pushed the boundaries in terms of graphics and character models while remaining "safe" in its photorealistic AAA style.

Rift Apart is not really my type of game (I prefer more challenging affairs), but it was a breezy playthrough that didn't overstay its welcome. I bought it primarily because I wanted to see what ray tracing looks like on PS5. Sounds like it would be in your wheelhouse if you enjoyed the past entries in the series.

Would you say over Tiny Tina’s? I mean I loved Borderlands 2 and it’s DLCs.

Never played Borderlands, so don't have an informed opinion. Probably depends what you're on the mood for.
Upon digging it sounds like they haven’t invested much in maintaining the product in the year since release.

Apparently they released a DLC that took 7min to complete. Yikes.

Could not recommend Rift Apart enough. It felt like the culmination of everything that makes R&C great, so if you're a fan of the series you'll absolutely love it. To this day it is still a showcase game graphically and while it's not terribly long, it's a very enjoyable plat.

TLoU2 is a tough recommendation for me, because while I felt like the writers were so far up their own asses after the critical success of the first game that it made the plot of the sequel suffer, it's still Naughty Dog's best game graphically and gameplay-wise.

Meh. I thought rift apart was just OK as a ratchet and clank game. Their female counterparts did nothing to drive the gameplay, and didn't really offer much story wise either. They were just kinda there. R&C has alway been a buddy action game. I would have enjoyed it more, had I just spent more time being Ratchet and Clank.

I will also echo the opinions of the others in this thread about The Last of Us 2. Not a good game. The writers seemingly go out of their way to make you hate every character in the damn thing. It's like, Oh heres this well beloved character from the first game and now they're burning down this school full of unfortunate orphans. Still like them? Well, do you!?..... It sure does look pretty though.

Last of Us 2 was great

It's a significantly better gameplay experience across the board. The audio/visual presentation is remarkable for a PS4 title.

Didn’t mind the story either, thought it was really enjoyable tbh. They actually had the balls to do something different than the usual more of the same approach.

Whew that RE4 demo hit the mark and then exploded it into a million pieces. They're really gonna make one of the greatest games ever even better.
