Yes. Doesn't seem like it's working though. The game is selling like hot cakes, reviewing well and is getting a ton of watch time on Twitch and YouTube.
I know my brother, his wife, and I all bought copies of the game. It was a large part of our childhoods.

Cliff notes?

From what I understand (I’m really not that well versed in the piracy scene), a lot of the developers who have cracked games in the past were hired by the companies that write crack protection software.

One of the last ones left apparently has some kind of deep hate for Denuvo (anti piracy company). Denuvo released a new version of their software specifically for Hogwarts Legacy that apparently was supposed to be unbelievably robust. She vowed to crack it in 10 days, she did it in 9.

Im a developer myself so what she’s doing, while morally corrupt, is impressive as hell. She’s single handedly out-engineering an entire company.

I love this shit. I don’t pirate really anything anymore (do use a vpn that some may consider a way around)… but absolutely love when dedicated normal people do stuff like this. Reminds me of George Hotz and his various vendettas

The reason people hate anti piracy software like Denuvo is because they take away resources from your computer's CPU, memory and GPU. So basically it makes the gaming experience worse for paying customers, while not really doing anything to actually stop piracy since people still crack the games in just a few days.

What are the Diablo games? Supposedly, people are getting hyped for Diablo IV, but I never played one and the combat looks weird...like a WOW game and I don't really like WOW-esque games.

I just can’t get into VR either. I have the 1st gen PS version and it sucks…
No wonder, it's not a very good device. No real controllers, mediocre screen, bunch of cables, not much horsepower etc.

Skipped the 1st attempt because the tech wasn't good enough imo. PS VR2 is a clear next gen upgrade in pretty much everything.

VR is always the next generation away. Been that way since the virtual boy (own one and it is fun in its own way). I’ve tired high end (circa late 2020/early 21) vr stuff and it wasn’t impressive enough. Now this version that locks into a tight, expensive ecosystem where the install base is tiny… consider me skeptical that it’ll actually be any good in a few years. I hope it is because vr sounds great in theory, I just don’t buy into it today.

VR will for sure get better each generation, it's pretty new anyway. It will remain a niche thing though as many can't afford it or just don't even want to try it. Hopefully, it still sells enough that the next generation won't be axed because the potential is wonderful.

I would say they have reached an acceptable point now with the VR2 for the mass market. It's way improved compared to the PS4 version in pretty much everything.

IMO vr will get bypassed in the market with ar. This is pda/smartphone all over again. There is a case for vr, but just not enough that it won’t be bypassed.

The cost on psvr2 is a huge issue. Not only the setup, but need a ps5 too. You don’t get mass market where you need a g to step in to it.

VR for sure won't be a mass market product, but the new VR2 is good enough that it can be recommended to all PS5 owners as long as they have the money.

Eventually the PS5 will reach a 100M install base, hopefully it does get the support because the tech is solid. Couldn't say the same thing about VR1, it was entirely for the tech enthusiasts.

Always fun to meet a fellow dev here

Diablo is an action-rpg franchise that uses an isometric camera angle. You basically kill demons for loot. I grew up playing Diablo II.

But are they good?
The first Diablo probably hasn't aged that well, but 2 and 3 are still extremely good. They're defiantly best enjoyed with friends. I spent a lot more time then I'd like to admit of my preteen/teen years on the old battle.net with Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Broodwar and Diablo 2.

Diablo 2 recently got a remaster called Resurrected. I heard it got a rocky start, but has since been patched and seems to be pretty solid. If you're going to check them out, I'd suggest you start there. If you play solo I recommend the Necromancer or the Paladin.

The pace these guys throw this stuff together is amazing. I'm sure they were able to leverage their Skyrim Together codebase... but god damn. The game has been out for a WEEK and they're already in alpha.

Thanks lads for the info, it seems like a game (Diablo that is) that needs to be played on the PC. However, I think I would rather buy it for the PlayStation, would I be setting myself up for failure? I see that the PS Store has Diablo II and III, are these worth the buy? Like are they remastered versions or just O.G.?

Also, Uncharted IV is amazing, my pace is slow as I just got to Sam's prison break, but dang Naughty Dog knows how to build an atmosphere. Any way I can redo the Crash Bandicoot thing for the trophy? I suck at platforming games and got wrecked on that lol.

Go with diablo 2 remastered over diablo 3 imo

Diablo 3 has a more modern feel though

I personally hated it being a fan of the first two. really looking forward to Diablo 4 open beta in a few weeks

I just beat the Uncharted spinoff with the girls. It was okay, not nearly as good or as long as UC4, but had a decent ending. Final boss fight was pretty fun
