Ghost of Tsushima was probably the best-looking game I have ever played in terms of scenery. They really did wonders with feudal Japan. I agree with hench though, the side missions were there to extend the playing time and nothing more. There are some good ones but tended to be few and far between. I actually thought it was the best button-masher game I've played, the combat is really good considering these types of games tend to be very basic. In the end, it's an amazing game, I describe it as a more buffed-up yet smoother Assassin's Creed.
I finished Until Dawn and was surprised about how long it was. There were some issues I had with it, like the player movement was considered an afterthought (it was so so so bad). I really hated how some of the live-or-die scenes were so anticlimactic in how you got to them, it actually pissed me off to a degree lol. I saved everyone except Jessica simply because I accidentally did not take the fast route to her (like seriously?). That was dumb and I restarted the ending once when the game glitched and moved my controller when I didn't even touch it leading to Sam's death. The don't move aspect was so glitchy and felt like if a subatomic particle moved, the game would say the controller moved.
I also really wanted the majority of the people to die considering how effin' annoying the characters were. They all came across as an MTV Jersey Shore Special, the only ones I felt were tolerable were Ashley, Sam, and Matt. I also don't think the game explained the Totems very well. Sure, I get that it's a future scene of some sort, but no real words or descriptions of what I should do with them. Do I need to play differently? Do I need to remember the scene? No idea, I simply forgot about them and used my best judgment.
The game got the atmosphere on point though and all the jump scares truly got me. I also love the unique twist where you think some of them are bad guys, but actually, turn out not to be (and vis-versa). I also wasn't expecting the sci-fi element to be thrown into there. I thought it was going to be like an M-rated Scooby Doo sort of slasher, but I thought it was quite well done. I was definitely scared at times and it is far from being predictable. Definitely going to play it again to get more of the achievements and see new storylines, but now I am onto Uncharted IV.
