World of Warcraft has got to be up there on these lists. Ya’ll are crazy

However, it’s just so tough to list games. It really depends on if we’re going for nostalgia, time consumed, quality of graphics/story, difficulty, world etc.

Any other retro gamers here? While I have newer consoles I still play my NES and SNES regularly on an old tube tv  . I also bought everdrives for both consoles so I can play just about any game from NES, SNES, Super Famicom and Famicom Disk System
Oh yeah… I have pretty much any home console released in the US after the mid 80s. Even oddball stuff like Jaguar and Turbografx. My wife hates all of this.

StarCraft was my life for a long while back in the day. I was kind of a weirdo though. I didn't play the normal game too much, but I loved the UMS(use map settings) playlist and played all the weird RPGs and unit spawning battle games. I remember I loved playing the DBZ and Hands of Chaos RPG on that playlist.

I just picked up the SNES Classic a few months back and it's great. It has SNES, NES, and Genesis games on there.

The prices for retro gaming are crazy right now with games like Mario Kart going for $100 for the cartridge alone. Bought the Classic off Kijiji for $120 and you can get pretty much any game you want.

Frankly hardware emulation has gotten so good that you could get any analogue fpga with an sd card and hack, then have nearly perfect retro gaming that hooks up to any hdmi tv.

Anyone ever play the Metro series? I still haven't found a game that scratches that itch for me since I beat Exodus. I've played through them all several times now. Nothing else brings me as much joy as those. Playing stealth with Russian voices on ranger hardcore mode is the only way to play though.

I tried to get into them, but never quite could. Hoping Atomic Heart is more my jam.

The redux version of 2033 really makes it easier to get into. The original had some rough edges, but some people find Last Light better to start with.

Exodus was a lot of fun, but the game really excels in the dark tunnels

I have 2033 redux and that’s the one I just couldn’t get into. Seems like a fine game, but didn’t tickle my fancy. I keep meaning to give it another shot, but too many other games take away my attention.

I played the first chapter of HiFi Rush tonight and I’m going to love the hell out of that game. Bright, colorful, fun… combat could be deeper, but I’m early. It is a ton of fun!

What am I missing w/ the controversy around Hogwarts Legacy? If it's about JK Rowling, my understanding was that she pretty much was non-existent in the making of the game. And while she is--for whatever reason--on the weirdest ass mission to torpedo her goodwill & reputation in the HP community, I still enjoy the HP series for what they are, and I am also looking forward to the game.
Their problem is that it will ultimately end up benefitting her financially and I mean, so what? Where's the call to boycott every single platform that streams or rents out the HP movies? Or bookstores? It's just an easy target to virtue signal. Do I think JK is a piece of shit? Oh absolutely. But it's not gonna stop me from playing an awesome game that hundreds of devs have poured their hearts and souls into.

Exodus is the shit on ranger hardcore. Best shooter in a while, there hasn’t been anything on that level since imo.

I love the design of multiple smaller open areas combined with the more linear story moments. It always stays interesting and fresh.

I like how as a group we go "Bye-week time" and video game chat immediately hijacks a hockey thread. Reminds me of when we used to have a bye of five months during the dark years so threads were just about pizza and sandwiches from start.

Best games of all time

1. Lord of the Rings Online
2. Witcher 3
3. BOTW
4. Divinity II

By no means a complete list, but here are some of my all time video games for PC and consoles.

1. Zork, Zork II, Zork III
2. Guild Wars (Prophecies of the Flameseeker, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North)
3. NHL Hitz
4. Final Fantasy IX
5. Mass Effect 1-3
6. Doom
7. Uncharted Series
8. Knights of the Old Republic
9. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
10. DayZ

Would be fun to try and put together a list of say my favorite 50 arcade games (coin-op) from back in the day. If I had kept every quarter I put into an arcade cabinet or cigarette machines back in the 80s and 90s...I'd be a lot richer than I am today. So glad I gave up the smokes back in 2010, it's crazy how expensive they are these days.

What about if you have had sex before? Does that change this list?

The extremes of cancel culture think all of the things related to any person they think should be canceled needs to be exterminated.

Halo needs re-invented. 343 has killed it completely

1. Shadow of the Colossus
2. Bloodborne
3. Metroid Prime
4. Hollow Knight
5. Disco Elysium: The Final Cut
6. Final Fantasy VI
7. Zelda: Breath of the Wild
8. N++
9. Final Fantasy IX
10. Spelunky 2
