there's a remake coming?!I'm greatly looking forward to the remake of this. Probably my single favorite SW game.
Maybe... was in development but got halted last summer and maybe moved to Saber to re-start development, but that is foggy.there's a remake coming?!
Fingers crossed. I mean, why wouldn't someone want to do it. It's like a press to print money with.Maybe... was in development but got halted last summer and maybe moved to Saber to re-start development, but that is foggy.
With having to remake a game of that size and give it the proper level of care to not have a revolt if it sucks... you're probably looking at a ~60m sort of budget for the game at minimum, which could inflate to ~80m especially with the development hell it has been in. Which means after all the cuts and eventual discounts, you have to sell ~10m copies to have a proper return. That's not impossible, but not exactly easy. GoW Ragnarok just got to ~11m copies with a pretty significant marketing push behind it. The 2018 version sold ~23m copies total. The original KOTOR game sold about ~3m units. That makes it pretty hard to bet on. Simply put AAA games are way too expensive to produce now with the current model. Bit unpopular, but the Gamepass/Netflix model likely eases this pressure, but also probably pushes more games to AA status.Fingers crossed. I mean, why wouldn't someone want to do it. It doesn't seem like it should be all that difficult though. What we really want is a modernization of the gameplay. You take a current engine and get some polished game play and the rest should take care of itself. For me a game is either pass or fail based on gameplay. If gameplay is bad, I won't invest enough time to give it an honest grade so I don't. If the gameplay is okay than I give it a grade and for an RPG something like 70% of the grade is the story...and the good news is that's already done, and it is fantastic! With having to remake a game of that size and give it the proper level of care to not have a revolt if it sucks... you're probably looking at a ~60m sort of budget for the game at minimum, which could inflate to ~80m especially with the development hell it has been in. Yeah I'm playing it now. A bit of a mess.I f***ing loved Golf Story. Seeing my friend play it, is was what pushed me over the edge for getting a switch, since I had already beat Breath of the Wild on the WiiU.
Really too bad about it's sequel though. Hopefully after some patches it's a good game.

I didn’t know Hench’s news of it getting delayed, that’s a bit concerning. But here’s the announcement video:

There have been unconfirmed reports of Saber taking over development after the demo was poorly received… but no news in a long time.
It'll probably come out at some point, but it has clearly entered development hell. I don't know really what to think about Saber taking over... on one hand they have done a number of great ports. On the other hand, any of the games they have actually made themselves has been rather poor. Now if Saber moved it over to 4A under their umbrella, there is a lot of potential there.Hopefully it doesn't fall into the failed project bucket, but if the demo wasn't great a change in developers is fine by me. Take your time and remake the game right. That game is too good to mess up.
KOTOR II they can mess up all they want lol.
Edith Finch was a huge surprise. Such a unique experience. The ending hit me particularly hardBoth KOTOR and KOTOR II are brilliant games. The storyline and gameplay are more interesting (done better) in the original one, but I really liked the Jedi/Sith moments of the second game including the main character for it. I get that you can design your own character, but the games actually have a main protagonist if you do some basic searching online. KOTOR would have been amazing stories to use for a Star Wars show, but alas they decided to do others.
In other news...
I recently beat What Remains of Edith Finch due to recommendations I read on this site and no words for this game. 10/10 rating on steam for a reason, but damn it is dark yet with so many memorable scenes. The bathtub, the fish, and the comic book...I don't think I will ever forget them lol.
It opened me to a new genre I never really knew existed. I knew about the TellTale series, but this one (Edith Finch) was so unique and different that I am going to keep an open mind towards smaller developers. I think the next game I want to play is Until Dawn, which I guess is a combination of Edith Finch and TellTale games.Edith Finch was a huge surprise. Such a unique experience. I like more suspense/mystery stuff than horror (which is why I really loved Edith Finch), but I enjoyed films like Scream, Friday the 13th, and The Conjuring (the first one is probably the scariest movie I've seen). They're stupid-fun, you lot think I would like this game?Until Dawn is basically a choose your own adventure slasher movie. Can be tons of fun and replayable. Actually quite a bit of fun to play as a group.
I think you would. I wouldn't say it is super mystery filled (plot is not really strong), but it is a fun play through. Think of it a lot more like an interactive movie than a pure video game. I have yet to play The Quarry, but will probably get around to it prior to the summer onslaught of games.I like more suspense/mystery stuff than horror (which is why I really loved Edith Finch), but I enjoyed films like Scream, Friday the 13th, and The Conjuring (the first one is probably the scariest movie I've seen). It's essentially a love letter to 80's "cabin in the woods" slasher flicks. Interesting story with some fun twists and turns throughout and some impressive performances.
