Confirmed Trade: [VGK/CGY/PHI] Noah Hanifin (75% retained), Mikhail Vorobyov to VGK; 2026 1st , 2025 cond. 3rd, Daniil Miromanov to CGY; 2024 5th to PHI

I distinctly remember you being furious about Tampa doing this same shit when they won their cup.

Guess you don't care anymore eh.
I mean what can I say? I did more reading about what it involves and it didn't bother me quite as much and sure it helped that it was my team that did it. I still would have preferred if they had won a cup without the LTIR maneuvering but outside of Barbashev, the guys they acquired didn't even contribute to the cup run and with Barbashev they were cap compliant. To me it didn't feel like we got some massive advantage but I can admit I was being hypocritical while also acknowledging that it was Cassidy and his systems clicking at the right time that won the cup more than Barbashev's individual contributions. Plus Hill going beast mode.

Nothing. They monitor this stuff and can have a player get a second opinion from an independent, qualified medical professional.

Anytime this comes up, Friedman brings up how hard the league went after Montreal and Shea Weber. Talks about how scrutinized everything was around that.
He (or someone) said the exact same freaking thing about Kucherov. Obviously the league looks at it. “The league” is all the teams

Who reported the trade? I'd think that the return would be out by now unless it is pending retention via a 3rd team or someone else jumped in trying to up the offer?
Reported by several sources. Full details taking this long to come out isn't unusual at all. The Dubois to LA trade was confirmed several hours before we got the full details.

When Theodore was out, he could have made his statement due to his skillset being needed but he returned too late.
I don't think that's what held him back. His speed is good and his puck movement is occasionally good but overall he doesn't have the best game sense, vision, or decision making with the puck. At least not to succeed at the NHL level. His strengths are good enough to excel in the AHL but it's not like we were sitting on a Theodore-lite.

Wednesday: Vegas trades for Hanifin
Thursday: mysterious injury, Hanifin goes on ltir
Friday: Vegas trades for another humongous piece

After losing the first game of the playoffs, All Vegas players take off their casts and they win 16 in a row.

(My team isn't in contention so I really don't give a f***, I think this is hilarious and very well executed).

As a Dallas I can agree that Vegas was the best team last playoffs. They were solid from top to bottom. They deserved the cup.

"If" Stone comes back this year for game 1 or 2, it would definitely look very suspicious and I wonder if the NHL will change something, but honestly I really can't see a player
sitting out and faking being injured. I definitely wouldn't, I hate missing hockey lol

Anyways, see you guys in the conference finals again? Unless you end up in the central through a wild card spot.

Why the hell would I? I'm an actuary whose current normal day is talking to IT about data needs of the other actuaries and talking with Underwriting about the performance of a certain segment of business and what if anything should be done to return it to profitability;
That actually sounds like a fun job, touching many areas of business and getting to see the overarching view of the business.
