Post-Game Talk: #VegasStronger - Golden Knights 3, Jets 2 (OT)

This game whenever the puck went in #29's direction I fully expected him to never take control of it. Whenever the puck was on #29's stick I expected a turnover. He causes the Jets to be hemmed in their own zone for an entire shift in OT and was a turnover machine. He was lucky that goals weren't scored off of his turnovers, some of them in very dangerous situations.

Also one of the worst games I have seen Blake Wheeler play.

The Jets play 3 on 3 with the same passivity as they do the PK. Points being thrown into garbage pretty much

Agreed Laine and Wheeler had very off games. I was also expecting a turnover pretty much every time 29 touched the puck tonight. And not surprisingly he was getting a few jeers from the crowd tonight.

Everybody turns the puck over... Seriously you ppl literally complain about laine every game for turning pucks over like everyone else does ALL the time... Its ridiculous to talk about Laines turnovers when they didn't lead to goals... Yet.. Others turnovers directly did... But yup go after the 19 yr old.

Not to mention the puck wasn't anywhere near the front of Helle's face.

That's something where as a player you would want the NHL to issue some sort of discipline for those Refs

Nice to see Armia again on the ice 3vs3. Why it's so hard to reward Armia for once, but so ridiculously easy to demote him...

I agree Maurice’s first move is to demote him.I will admit he has not played well last game and this one until the move in lines.Playing a team with no real first line the third line should have been Connor/Lowry/Armia no need for a pure shutdown line.Also get some young legs out there for OT already.How many ot goals were a directly caused by Buff in some way this year either being gassed or caught up ice would love someone to look it up.

How did we steal a point when the refs literally decided that its ok to slash our goalie in the head to score?

When you are down with 2 minutes left over 90% of the time you walk away with nothing. Getting something at that point is stealing a point you wouldn't normally get. Agreed it was a horrible non goal on the goal, but it doesn't mean the Jets were particularly strong tonight. They were pretty much bailed out by their 4th line.

Some are saying that the slash happened after the puck was in the net but 2 ref's on the ice and they don't see a slash especially since the play was at the net. Goal counts but 2 minute slashing penalty at minimum after the fact

I actually find it amusing that people take it so personally. It's so predictable. Yeah everybody makes mistakes, including Laine and all the other players wearing a Jet uniform. I'm not sure why are turnovers that don't lead to goals not relevant.

Its weird how everyone here would rather bitch about our guys but barely mention the slash to the head of our goalie that in the end... Cost us 1 point.

I disagree. This was Laine worst game if seen. Completely disengaged. Don’t eeven know what to say here. Wheeler at least had a few decent moments.

But Wheeler absolutely cost the game. A couple of frcent plays do not redeem him at all, as he had a huge amount of bad plays.

In fact Laine also had a few good plays, but practically only in the first period . Those are of course easy to forget when he had such a bad rest of the game. Still, Wheeler by himself pretty much cost the win, and nothing that he did otherwise does redeem him at all in that game.

But I do agree in that, that it was probably the worst game I saw Laine play at least this season. There was a couple of even worse ones last season. But this was definitely close to as bad. Also it was pretty much the worst game I have ever seen Wheeler play. The only good thing in his play was really that he at least stayed out of the penalty box.

The puck wasn't in the net. The slash/high stick happened well before the goal was scored. As soon as Haula touched the puck the whistle should have been blown and Neal sent to the box.

The shorthanded goal was irrelevant? Wow. Laine and Wheeler were both atrocious on it. Go watch the highlights and educate yourself.

Laine is scoring goals but the rest of his game has regressed it's frightening.

something went wrong on his summer, it was clearly visible right from the game one. still regressing. is it gained weight or is there something else i dont know but he lost a lot mobility and finesse on technique

I haven't read the thread TBH. But I always find it amusing that people get so upset if someone says one negative thing about Laine. He didn't have a very good game IMO.

I'll happily take the point. Vegas is very good. We had no luck in OT (ie mad scrambles for pucks in Vegas crease didn't pay off).

If you think it sucks getting 3 out of 4 points against the 2 best teams in the NHL and being first in the division, I direct you to go check out the Flames boards. So you can see what sucking is really about.

I disagree I think he is a great complimentary top 6 player who brings defence and skill to any line he plays with.The kid just needs a opportunity to play with more talented players.

Because they might even sometimes lead into your own team scoring a goal after them. But a turnover that leads into the opponent scoring will never lead into anything else than that. Should be pretty much obvious though...

All turnovers are bad and all players should try to limit them. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw. if players keep doing it, eventually they get burnt. That's why it's a point of discussion
