But Wheeler absolutely cost the game. A couple of frcent plays do not redeem him at all, as he had a huge amount of bad plays.

In fact Laine also had a few good plays, but practically only in the first period . Those are of course easy to forget when he had such a bad rest of the game. Still, Wheeler by himself pretty much cost the win, and nothing that he did otherwise does redeem him at all in that game.

But I do agree in that, that it was probably the worst game I saw Laine play at least this season. There was a couple of even worse ones last season. But this was definitely close to as bad. Also it was pretty much the worst game I have ever seen Wheeler play. The only good thing in his play was really that he at least stayed out of the penalty box.
I missed the first 10 min of the first period. Had to work. Sorry. Though I watched the rest and didn’t see him do anything at all really

On the post game show Kevin O said he knew what kept Lowry out, saw the incident and left it hanging. My impression is he believes he re injured or disturbed probably his shoulder. Surprised if he plays next game.

They showed him on the bench moving his shoulder pad around, other than that who knows but not coming back was a bad sign.

If Laine doesn't play amateur hour on his flubbed breakout, the puck's not in a position for Wheeler to make his stupid gaffe. They're both to blame for that putrid series.
Wheeler himself took the puck to the danger zone completely arrogantly and carelessly. Laine’s flubbing in the breakout did not lead into that. Wheeler had absolutely no need at all to do what he did. He made it through his own choice. The goal was only and completely on Wheeler and no one else not one bit. Period.

Imagine if they would of slashed King Henrik or Carey Price like that then the league would of had a problem if they still called it a good goal but we are little old Winnipeg and we are just happy to be in the league.o_O

I won't over repeat the obvious complaints about Laine and Wheeler.

But on the SH goal it was really disappointing to see Wheeler choose to cut to the middle with no support behind him and equally disappointing that none of the guys backed him up. The Jets $#!& the bed on every attempt to play the puck that sequence.
I'm not sure why they were so confident that Wheeler would be able to successfully beat his guy when every thing else had gone so wrong.

Without the break down there I seriously question if Vegas scores a goal that game. Momentum is everything. We gave them confidence... a gift.

The game was going well until

Even Helle didn't look ready to face that shot. There were many breakdowns in that sequence. All six deserve shame on that goal.

Yep. There’s no way that should have been a goal. Don’t even know what to say here. Incompetence maybe.:help:

Lowry had 3 bad things happen to him.
Puck in the face, I actually can't remember what the second one was (just that he was grimacing going to the bench.
BUT the play that took him out was a collision with Engellend on his last shift. He had crushed Engellend earlier in the game in the offensive corner. On the "bad collision" the camera just missed it but I could see it about to happen. I don't think Lowry saw it coming until it was too late.

Sucks but he's likely out for a bit again.

Didn't he take a puck in the groin at one point?

I'd need Perreault away from Hendricks then. ;)

Did you see my fourth line suggestion for the Coyotes game?

Connor Scheifele Armia

Ease Scheifele into action ;) Of course we probably lost Lowry again so that makes it unlikely

Hendricks tracker:

Matt Hendricks with Perreault: 59% Corsi, 8 GF, 5 GA, +3.
Matt Hendricks away from Perreault: 48% Corsi, 7 GF, 10 GA, -3.
now there's breaking news. isn't every player on the team the same with perreault and away from him as Hendricks.

Poor Buff just can't keep up 3-on-3. Gets gassed and looks like he's waiting for a bus to take him to the bench.
What did you folks think of Wheeler and Laine? Don't hold back.
Maybe they could work on breaking out of the D-zone, or something. Watching Laine flub the puck at his own blue line over and over again is getting old. Agree with the poster who said Wheeler looks tentative.

We just took 3 of 4 points from the two teams at the top of the league. Without our best player (Scheifele), and arguably our best defenceman (Trouba). Missing Kulikov, but more importantly, with Chiarot.

Any points we get with Chiarot on the ice are a blessing.

The sky isn't falling. Games like these will serve as lessons for the playoffs.

Wheeler needs to go back to wing. Should not even be a talking point anymore. Once Scheif is back he is to the wing. After that it is anyones guess. With Roslo here now we could have a huge logjam. As in good players will need to be on the 4th line, as is already the case. And also the 3rd line will be a fully shutdown/scoring line threat. We will need to make a move though. Waive or trade somebody. Dano or Mathias are good as gone if we ever get fully healthy
