I wouldn’t even call it crying, man. Anyone watching hockey during the first few years Crosby was in the league has seen someone get more plaintive about the rough stuff. As close as the Kane hit was to boarding, I could understand him being pissed off, just as I’d get it if Ekholm had an interview with a similar take on Kolesar going to far.

Pietrangelo isn’t even a player that takes penalties like that. Call it the sum of frustration from LD lighting them up, penalties called and the “mutually assured destruction” attitude taken when the ethos of physical play escalated beyond where the refs should have stopped it.
Well yes he wasn't producing tears during his interview but he was 100% complaining about being targeted which was my intended use of the word crying.

I was really young when Crosby was a rookie and haven't seen any of his interviews from then, but I've never seen McDavid whine about the shit he puts up with almost every game nor any other star for that matter. Kaprizov was injured several times this year from being targeted but you don't hear a peep from him about it in interviews.

And it's one thing to make that slash in frustration and then admit you overreacted and shouldn't have done it. He didn't once take responsibility or even show remorse and the 1 game suspension probably reinforced that it wasn't a big deal for him. It's already been said but players have good memories.
In other words if Campbell isn't the starter he should be traded - I think he showed enuff in the playoffss to give other teams some interest BUT going to have to eat some of the contract

Good writeup on TSN looking deep into stats
bad starting Goaltending - the 3 amigos failure- Ceci and nurse duo was not good- and marchesseault line totally dominated Hopkins line was big reasons for series failure
O they would trade him if they could. Campbell's 80 minutes of inflated and arguably garbage time play in the playoffs isn't going to make him attractive enough to trade for, even with retention. He'll have to have a decent full season before any team would even consider that, and we'll have to add a lot.

Regardless. He lost more respect from me after his interview then from the actual chop. No remorse and the cry baby justification of him being targeted was ridiculous. I thought this guy was a star defence-man. Of course he's being targeted. He should try being Drai or McDavid who's targeted every minute they are on the ice. I hate Drew Doughty but at least I respect him because he takes the the abuse and has the mental capability to understand that as a star player he is being targeted. Pietroangelo can't hold Drew's jock strap in the respect department. Use to like Pietro a lot but what I learned about him during this series puts him in the scum area of players for me. To each their own of how they view things but that's how I feel about him now.
Appropriate that this interview was broadcast on mother's day since AP needed a diaper change.

As for the series, the Oilers had a lot of trouble with the Knight's forechecking and did not score enough goals at even strength. Those are things that can be worked on.

LoL u have no idea if he could be traded or not

The Oilers won't win anything until the HFOilers become humbled, which the last two years should do some of that possibility. Constantly blaming refs, especially in series you lot win is an inferiority complex in the worst possible way.
LoL Kelly is that you??

Eh, Kelly? It happens to the best teams, I am very sure Lightning got humbled both as an organisation and fanbase when they lost to CBJ and Av fans experienced the same aspect in the forty 2nd round losses in a row that the team had.

I like how you framed this in a way like your opinion matters one bit lmao. Oh no he lost your respect! Hope this doesn't keep him up at night and he's able to get enough sleep for the next round.

Using Doughty - one of the biggest whiners in the league - as a comparison was just the icing on the cake 🤣

The way some people were talking about Skinner in this thread I thought he let in some bad goals but after watching the highlights that's not the case.... well maybe the 4th goal. Team defense was horrible in front of him.

On the tying goal Marchessault skated right on down even when RNH gave him a little bump. Ceci goes chasing, RNH fails to stay with March or he thought Draisaitl would pick him up. Unfortunately Draisaitl was puck watching and seemed like he didn't even notice March coming down from behind.

Go ahead goal. Draisaitl loses a puck battle, Skinner makes a save but puck goes straight up high in the air, THREE Oilers (Ceci, Nurse, Draisaitl) don't even attempt to watch the two VGK players behind Skinner and they bang home the puck that came back down.
I know this post is a not timely in regard to your post time, apologies.

My view, on the "pop fly" goal, is that Skinner watched the puck with his eyes and should have followed it with his glove. Id get benched on my rec league softball team for that error. It's 100% on him. Catch the puck, Stew.

A smooth brain take is assuming anything you, or I, or anyone else on this board does has any damn thing to do with the on ice product.

I don't know what every GM is thinking but it doesn't take a genius to realize that a goalie who is over 30 and is coming off a sub .890 save percentage with 4 years left on his contract is a negative asset.

Any player can be traded because there's always a price. The price for trading Campbell would be way too high for the oilers to consider trading him this offseason.

Probably not obvious to you and other crazies on here, but internet fans have zero effect on how a team does (it's on the players, coaching, and management).

The hockey gods know and that's who matters the most bruv.

I'm guessing the hockey gods are the 20 cats you worship in your basement.

What's hilarious is you actually believe this.

This is now truly sad.

You have the equivalent of today's Gretzky and Lemieux together, and every damn year they lose to a Glenn Healy.

Of course it doesn't help that modern day Steve Passmore lives in your crease.
Whoa whoa whoa....

Neither is a Gretzky nor a Lemieux never mind Draisatl...

Das ist verrückt. Draisatl ist aehr gut aber kein Gretzky oder Lemieux. Er ist wir Kurri.
