Playoff hockey isn't about next season or a total body of work. It's about a moment in time
Like I said a million times. Campbell is even WORSE. I couldn't justify any point in this series to start Campbell over Skinner except for maybe game 5 against the kings...

You like Campbell I get it. I don't feel the same way as you lmao. My opinion isn't going to change because Skinner had a bad game 6. Skinner bounced back after a loss each time prior vs Vegas.

Put in Campbell in a critical high pressure game 6 and he probably lets up 7 goals instead.

Good thing for you is you still have Campbell for another 4 years....so four more cracks at it!

Congrats to Vegas for moving on.
Congrats to Bettman for a well staged series.
Thank you to the refs for the fair calls.
Thank you to Paros for being fair and only giving Alex pietrangelo a one game suspension.
Thank you helping me realize that the NHL is not a professional hockey league but rather charades.
Cry more, it's always the refs and league. Surely it can't be because your team just got beat by a better team. SURELY they didn't lose the series because they scored ZERO even strength goals in a critical game 5. Nope it has to be the refs.

The discussion here should be more about how good Vegas is, instead of Edmonton's short-comings. Vegas is an experienced, deep well-constructed team that is built for the playoffs. Eichel has been fantastic so far in his first playoff appearance, and their top players like Marchessault, Karlsson, Stone and Pietrangelo have been impressive as expected. IMO, Vegas is quite easily the best remaining team "on paper".

Vegas will need a lot more out of Theodore though to get past Dallas or Seattle and take a run at the Cup.

LMAO at -4 Draisaitl flinging himself to the ice trying to draw a penalty as the third dwindled down. He targeted +4 Pietrangelo earlier in the series because one of the worst scumbags to ever play in the NHL is his assistant coach Dave Manson and that is the way Dave played, pure premeditated attacks on the other team's top guys. Dave deserves to follow in Bryan Marchment's hilarious footsteps. Watching the regular season Oilers have to take that series and live with it. When it got down to the real time, one guy who is already a champion in the league said no thank you to the regular season floppers. And then the regular season floppers couldn't even look their opponents in the eye in the handshake line. They slunk off as losers right in front of all their fans. What a feeeeeee-nomenal night. My team actually lost one draft order spot because of the Oilers losing and I'm more than fine with it.

1st overall picks on this year's Oilers team: 2 (McDavid, RNH)

Games won: 6

1st overall picks on this year's Leafs team: 2 (Matthews, Tavares)

Games won: 5

:dunno:

Guess they both totally shit the bed there, eh?
Yes I agree. Both are not good.

Even worse Draisaitl said that this year was a failure and a waste of a year for them. That's not how winners take defeat. If your top guys are saying experiences are a waste for them then that's huge red flags. What did he expect, that the cup was just going to be handed to them?

If I was an Oilers fan I'd much prefer Drai call the season a failure, instead of the usual "let's run it back next year, we believe in this group" bullshit that nobody really believes.

The season was 100% a failure, and good on him for stating it.

Yes, Draisaitl should have gloated about his 50G 100pt season and his generational goal scoring in playoffs.

Haha @ red flags about an upset player saying season wasted after an elimination game.

Keep reaaaachinng

I mean I was expecting it but it's still kind of crazy to think there's like 8 threads about what went wrong for Edmonton between the playoffs and main board and not 1 about what went right for Vegas other than the general Eichel thread.

No matter what team you are, you can’t win games when your goalie lets in 4 goals on less than 15 shots 2 games in a row. Skinner deserves a lot of blame, Woody deserves just as much for being blind and thinking this rookie goalie who can’t control rebounds is going to “bounce back”.

Bettman got what he wanted. Let’s decide to put the whistles away because it benefits one team. Edmonton got punished this postseason for having a historic PP. They need to improve their 5 on 5 play or learn how to dive better

Loser talk at it's finest.

The Knights and Oilers currently rank 1st and 2nd, respectively, in penalties drawn. Both teams are first (Oilers) and second (Knights) in penalties taken as well. The Knights stilllll won while, unlike the Oilers, not converting at a crazy rate on the man advantage. At the end of the day, they walked away with four wins.

Congrats Knights fans! Seems like we’ll be destined to meet at least a few more times over the next while so I look forward to a rematch, hopefully with some of our depth not disappearing.

As a side note, if you’re someone who is whining because Draisaitl didn’t make eye contact (but still shook his opponents hand), you’re the softest type of human out there. What did you want him to do, maintain eye contact and give him a kiss? Talk about reaching.

Nugent Hopkins has to be the biggest 100 point fraud in modern era history.

No battle.
No emotion.
Completely and utterly dominated at five on five two post seasons in a row.

He's a PP leach through and through and can't raise his game when his teammates need him too.

The pains of being a 6 year old franchise.

The combination of the Knights not having a really big following on these boards, and a tremendous amount of trolls that absolutely love to rip on teams that have been eliminated. You'd think half the people on these boards just cheer for other teams to lose rather than rooting for their own to succeed. There's also a weird obsessive amount of Av's fans in said threads. The teams don't even have a rivalry, it's just weird.

Would've expected more Kings fans. But yeah I get you. My post was more commentary than it was genuine confusion.

I think most of us just expected him to maintain eye contact really.
