Have seen some takes in this thread, but “wow what a comeback from Pietrangelo with a +4” when he should’ve been gone from the series for that overhand slash/intent to injure has to take the cake.
What about that makes the point incorrect? No one here can do anything about that the fact that Pietrangelo was allowed to come back. It was an objectively strong performance. You're griping for griping's sake.

I don’t personally think a “congratulations” are in order is all I’m saying.

Objectively he got shelled again but Hill made a lot of saves.

Agreed, Skinner was shaky from puck drop. Again. Even if you don't want to start Campbell you can't wait 2 periods to pull Skinner after seeing him looking lost out there.

Vegas had him figured out before the series started. Constant plays from behind the net and shooting high glove whenever possible.
I've watched many series where a goalie is outplayed, and usually I'm pretty hard on them.

I'm not even mad at skinner. It was clear as day that he was an ahl goalie playing in the NHL. The pace was just too fast for him.

Reminds me of when I used to play div 3 and then play a div 1 game. I just couldn't get used to the pace

Maybe next year McDavid saves a little something for the playoffs instead of chasing 150+ points. I expect next year he will hold back and rest for the playoffs. Comes with maturity.

Kane is not the trade deadline addition Management claimed he would replace not getting. Kane was terrible. Goalies are not battle ready. RNH vanished, Leon went stone cold. They will kick themselves for missing out on this year opportunity just like Toronto. It was there for the taking.

Get an NHL level goalie, this would have made all the difference.

Pietrangelo should not have played in this game, turns out he was a difference maker and played really well. I can understand Oilers fans being upset about that one. Touch break for Canada, Again.

It was a dumb thing to do, but to say he should have been gone for the series is just silly. 1 game was fitting

Man have you got it twisted.

Crosby skipped the handshake line because he was too busy doing interviews. Lidstrom shook hands with everyone in the line.

By the time Crosby got around to it most wings players had finished the line and left the ice.

Chelios skipped the line in 2007 but otherwise I have no idea what you’re on about.
I love how this still persists to this day. Nick waited while Crosby celebrated the win, got tired of waiting, and then bolted. He was a sore loser. Crosby waited the year before while the Wings celebrated to shake hands.

I won't be surprised if Kane is done. That wrist injury was severe and if he's unable to shoot or stick handle there's not much of a player left there. He said himself he's not sure if it'll ever be 100% again so we'll see.

If only there were video to show what actually happened. Crosby almost missed the entire line, yet every other Pens player managed to shake hands.

I love how people try to revise history when there's literally video. To claim Lidstrom skipped the line is particularly hilarious.

You could literally see in his play that skinner was going to get lit up again. If you had confidence in him you weren't watching closely
Read my post one more time. Over the entire playoffs not just one game, yes I absolutely have more confidence in Skinner than I do in Campbell.

Campbell is absolutely brutal. I've watched him closely enough for years now.

Skinner isn't good either but he's better than Campbell.

Martinez was the worse part of that pairing tonight. At least as far as puck management on attempted exits is concerned because he did block a lot of shots. I thought he played at least a solid game, but it's neither here nor there. The point wasn't bad because AP7 should or shouldn't have been playing. That part is nonsensical.
