Yep. Our guys get away with lots of **** too, but people only see the stuff the other guy gets away with.

I don't blame Helle for starting to be shaky. He has played an insane amount of hockey this season.

Roslovic had earned a spot on this team full time

When Roslovic is playing well he is very good at puck protection and skating. You see glimpses of 1st line talent from time to time. Too bad this series is cursed and the Jets aren't allowed to score goals any more.

Honestly, I hate how ignorant Americans are regarding hockey. And I am an American. At Stars games growing up, many fans just wanted violence. Granted, different era. But if fans here truly loved hockey, wouldn't they appreciate it when a team whose country GAVE us this sport is finally so close to the Cup? We continue to bastardize the sport (ex: Nashville chant). I want to support a team whose fans actually UNDERSTAND the game. So, even with the deficit, I have been satisfied with choosing Winnipeg.

Not ass kissing. Plenty are but not the type that are choosing to latch on to the Knights bandwagon. I should have clarified that statement.

Are you kidding me????
Stupid penalty for Myers????
Do you watch the game??? Vegas does that on every single Jets player in the OZ even when they don't have the puck ... where are the Vegas penalties?????

I am sick of this BS ... Jet players getting blamed for taking a penalty when Vegas does the EXACT same thing and they don't get a penalty.

As my posting history shows I am not one of those numerous passionate Myers haters on this forum.

But for sure that was a stupid penalty. Stupid, clear interference by cross checking his guy. It's not penalized every time, not even for Myers, but he is a big man and it's so easy to see when he is doing that.

Above all, that interference was not needed in that situation. Therefore that penalty was also stupid. Often you are forced to take penalty and that's OK. Myers was not forced to take that penalty.

This series is showing how unfair hockey is.

1 chance, 1 goal, game winning goal. Jets dominate with no reward.

Going to be a long summer if they don't get this done.

Another thing is don't people remember 2015-2016 Hellebuyck? He had some of the best underlying metrics that season and overall good stats.
You might as well save your facts and arguments for other discussion. After losses, those are good for nothing.

No matter what -- the young guys are getting great playoff experience, and they will be back, and a lot more composed for this playoff type atmosphere. They are all also getting a lot stronger physically, so we only have a "great future" with this club.

We may lose this series--but I'm proud to be a Jet's fan, they.ve had a great year. I believe that winning these big playoff series "is a process"-- and the young Jets will learn from this.

I will say this--"it's not over yet" - if the Jet's win the next game at home--and bring the series to 3-2--"we're in business. At that point we only have to win 1 game in Vegas, and the Series goes to Game 7 in Winnipeg. It would not surprise me, however the odds are in the Knight's favor right now.

So far the Jet's have played "great" and would have won 8 out 10 games with this effort, and really it's the Goaltending of Fluery that's made the difference. He's saving at around a 94 % save percentage, and when you have a Goalie that hot--it's very tough to beat. It's not the Jets team--they are playing good.

Helle--is playing real good as well--it's just that Fleury has been "fantastic"

I'm really hoping the Jet's come back and take the next 3 straight-- and if they don't they've come a long way--and had a great season.

Just so proud to be a Jet's fan.:thumbu:

No, really? Goalie must be confident, but if he says something like that after the game he just played is beyond just being confident.. But if that's true and he has a habit to not take a responsibility from his mistakes it might explain why Stastney and Laine looked so pissed at him after the goal he hoovered right after Laines PP goal.. I mean, they avoided even looking at him when he came to the bench right after the goal. It seemed kind of weird to me..

If laine called helly out I'd point out laine had one goal in whole Nashville series. Both have played in same number of nhl playoffs and before this series helly has been way more dominant.
So did something actually happen, did someone call him out? Or is this more of the "Buff hates Laine because he didn't celebrate hard enough" type of news?

Goddamn but Little is a rubbish player nowadays. There’s no chance for the Jets winning the Stanley Cup as long as they have such offensively rubbish players in such big roles in their lineup as he is nowadays. He would be barely ok for a non contender nowadays. But if you want to really have a realistic chance at the cup you just can’t have such useless players in your lineup.

Hey, it's only for the next 6 years.

I think we're done. You don't win 3 games in a row against this Vegas team.

oh yeah, we're done.

but...it sure would be sweet in a karmic sense if we could pull off a miracle.

one game at a time. win tomorrow at home. take the next one in their barn - where they are due for a loss. come back for game 7.

All of these players got themselves to the WCF, that's pretty special in my books. When you run into Hasek-esque goaltending there isn't too much that can be done. I feel the Jets have had a lot of chances put the puck in the net but the puck luck has shriveled up the last 3 games. 3 games in a row has happened before but is a tall order. Whatever the case I have enjoyed all Jets games this year.
Did not enjoy seeing and hearing stories of certain Vegas employees and fans. Pretty disgraceful and I would be mortified to have that hanging around my franchise. 30 other teams would have released public apologies and not continue to approve this behavior, but hey whatever works for them I guess. As salty as it sounds, I would feel this way whichever team was playing them. Just so disrespectful.
As for officiating, I am ok with letting the odd hook or slash go to let them play, but Too Many Men is an obvious call you have to make, like delay of game, no disputing it. By not calling it, you tilt the ice in favor of the team committing the infraction.

I dont mind losing WCF at all (year was positive), but the way it's happening just makes me sick. Because rigged reffing Jets had zero change leading game after first period. Made up calls wont change that.

Hit the nail on the head. Jets play a pretty damn good game, make a handful of mistakes like any other team, and the difference is Vegas capitalizes on most of them. It's been so frustrating to watch because Jets have dominated possession, ozone time, shots on goal, high danger shots, use whatever stat you'd like. Only stat we're not dominating is goals for, and that's the one that counts.

Was pissed with Meyers' penalty - totally unnecessary. Helle screwed up on goal #2 but otherwise I thought he played well. Buff fanning on goal #3 terrible. Very happy with Roslo, good sub for Armia who I thought was useless in game 3. We absolutely have to stop with the letting in a goal immediately after scoring... total momentum killer. Maurice should just call a timeout after we score. ;) Thought the refs missed calls both ways, in fact I think we were lucky we didn't have more penalties against.

Start with a win at home on Sunday.

Battle like never before and pray for a win on Tuesday.

Then it's a whole new ballgame (can you tell I'm an eternal optimist?)

GJG!

Nothing happening now changes anything for me really. This season has been a gigantic success. We jumped some big hurdles and got farther than ever before. Sure it sucks we didn't get the job done, but we have a bright future. Nothing is a given of course which is why you have to try and take advantage of these chances when you can, but we have a team that should be contending for at least 5 or 6 years here.

You arent gonna win games 2 1... So all those blaming our goalie.. What about the other 5 guys on the ice?
2 goals should easily be enough to win. Unless your goalie craps his pants at the start of the games and after your team scores, of course. Then it doesn't matter how many goals your team scores.

I wasn't able to watch first 3 games of this series, and last night I got my timezones wrong and only hopped in for the 2nd period. I have to say it looked exactly like I feared it would - Vegas with strong forecheck and overall just working very hard, Fleury standing on his head and Helle crapping the bed with a real softie after the equalizer. Heck, that wasn't even a softie, he basically created a situation out of nothing.

I don't care what he says in interviews, he can say whatever he needs to say, but this far his approach isn't working. He needs to figure it out. Goalies are weird creatures, the margins between great play and poor play are so small. However Helle is dealing with having a bad game, clearly it isn't working because he seems unable to have a bounce back game in this series. Maybe he should try owning up to crap play. If he truly liked his game after game 4 then I don't know what to say, maybe someone needs to yell him straight. Rinne for example after a bad game seems to beat himself down and own up to even more than he really was responsible. For him it seems to work, always seems to have a strong game after a loss that can in any way be put down to him. This far Helle hasn't shown that ability. He's young though and first time in this type of situations at the NHL level at least.

I was feeling totally gutted after the game and was sure there's no way the Jets can win 3 straight against Vegas, but then again Vegas won 3 straight against the Jets. There's absolutely no reason the tables can't be turned. Granted, Vegas has had the easier road to this point, so they have the upper hand. But also the way they play, I think they'll start wearing down if the Jets manage to drag this series on. If Helle can give us 3 good games in a row, there's no reason why the Jets can't still advance to finals. This is not the time to give up. When you get to conference finals, you don't go "oh well, it was a good run". Not as a fan and definitely not as a player. There are some very good hockey players I'm sure who never have been in a position to get even this far. There's no guarantee this group of Jets players ever get here again, no matter how good team they have.

Is Mason healhty, it seems Hutchinson was the back up last night? Because honestly, based on the results of this series this far, if I were the coach I'd probably be trying to ride Mason if he's healthy. For the little amount of games he's played this season, I always liked him. During the regular season Helle was the better goalie, but Mason always looked good enough to give a chance at winning. But really, I don't have the information needed for that decision. The coaching staff should know Helle well enough to read all the signs if he'll bounce back and also get the vibe in the room, if changing the goalie would make the players feel better and more confident or not. It's a young team and having a bad game from the goalie 3 times in a row gotta be eating on them, especially after the year Helle had in 16-17... must be bringing back some memories, and not good ones...

Also Fleury is no Hasek and he's been one of the flukiest top goalies in the past at least IMO. Sure, he has played great so far, but the Jets shouldn't fear or respect him too much. But they do need to find a way to tear him down for a game.

Really disappointed in the jets tonight but we couldn't solve MAF and we couldn't get it done. It is what it is. Helle sucked tonight sure but he also brought us here. Team effort. No high danger shots on net

one can't help but admire what Vegas has accomplished this season. Great team, especially after they were wrote off immediately post expansion draft

I've certainly eaten crow. Who cares about refs and missed calls and all that complaining. We are down 3-1 in the series and that really all that matters. This was supposed to be our year.

And it was, we took a huge step forward.

But we aren't going all the way.

Guys, let's not get too down. It sucks but we have some great memories from this team this year. I've never been so proud of a team called the Jets. We took down Nashville that was an awesome series. We just got out goalied. Helle's cockiness needs to become huberis. He is a great goalie but he's young

This team will do great things in the future.

Let Vegas enjoy this - they had a terrible tragedy befall that community.
Excellent post and great perspectives
