The Jets are the more skilled team don't you agree? It's a not competition about who plays harder, it's about who scores more goals. When you are less skilled than the other team, you have to either out-smart or out-work them, or both. I think the way Vegas play is more taxing to the players than the way Jets play. The Jets have a 7-game series behind them, so they were at a disadvantage coming in against a more rested team, so yeah it's pretty damn physically demanding for the Jets as well. Still I believe the longer this series goes on, the better for Jets ... well obviously when they are trailing wins 1-3 but you get my point
Well, it's a theory. Personally I don't think Vegas's so-called talent is much below the Jets' (not in this series), and it's really not regaining all of the ground lost to being outhustled and less relentless (which, talent or not, means the other team is getting to pucks sooner and more often; and Vegas hasn't looked deficient in the area of burying chances). Jets have had superior bursts but largely their talent guys haven't outproduced Vegas. They've done okay with Scheif, Wheeler, Buff, to a lesser extent Stastny and Laine. Vegas counters with its number one line (the burying line), Neal and Fleury. The rest of the talent (Helly, Little, Perreault, Maurice, Armia, Morrissey, Trouba, Ehlers) haven't made Vegas feel at all embarrassed. Haven't noticed any of the Vegas guys suffering from fatigue, they look pretty lively. TL,DR: The Jets' superiority in talent isn't big enough to overcome the team's inferiority in other areas of the game, or so it certainly seems. IMO.
I'd like to see them win three in a row now, and another four after that (and 98 after that). There's a chance, just not an encouraging one. Be a real drag if the season ends tonight.
