I'm sure if you were a Vegas fan, you would be able to come up with a lot of "missed" penalties not called on the Jets-- it all balances out IMO.

The real reason the Jets lost the series is Helle let in a soft "fluttering" slow shot, that ended up being the winning goal (3rd)-- and also Fleury Save % of 94.5. It's really as simple as that-- but I understand your frustration.

For the record i wasnt just talking out last nights game or just Jets games or even hockey. Its a cop out used by media for absolving any responsiblity of the officals when it comes to what essentially amounts to screwing up the game.

Your Mind
To defend Hellebuyck in this series would be embarrassing.

He has crushed this team's momentum and confidence with his shakey goal tending in this series.
Couldn’t agree more.
I was actually crapped on last night after I ripped hellebuyck apart.
“Guess he needs to get a shutout for you” I was told

Uh no... making the saves you are supposed to would be a great start though

Idk what people think Stastny is gonna be, but if he’s resigned, he’ll be exactly what people think Little will be. Aging and overpaid. It’s juat shortsighted. Little isn’t going anywhere and I am personally not worried about our 2C spot going into next year.
I think Roslovic has the skill to play 2C, if he manages D zone responsibilities. He's an ideal linemate for talented players because his speed and vision and skill opens up space and he's good at finding open players. He's also tenacious on the puck, so he's good at forechecking and getting zone time for players that aren't as adept.

I would love to see a highlight package of ALL the cross checks & interference on Mark Scheifele especially when he DOES NOT have the puck. If the refs just call half of them there's an extra 3 PPs per game.
What I don't understand how does Boudreau, Babcock, even Gallant (Shark series) called out the refs and its okay but if we do it we are whiners.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for taking a part in making the main boards unpleasant. I let a few people who raided my inbox trigger me too much. I know the feeling you guys are having right now as it is the same feeling of extreme joy and pride I felt last season after watching my team almost go to the 3rd round like your team is in currently, never mind making the post season for the first time in 11 years lol. I have watched every game since the beginning of 06 when we went to game 7 of the finals and I thought that was the norm for us cause I was a noob. Here I am still watching them win or lose, just like you guys lol. So i know its the same for you as you as hockey is in our blood we probably have the best and most loyal fans for our sport in the world per capita, you got your team back in 2011 and are loving every minute of it especially right now so congrats to you guys and hope you guys are enjoying the run.

Thanks for reading me out, m8's.

The NHL's tall foreheads (Bettman and Daly) can't have it all. They really don't want a Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup yet do they want an expansion team to win it in its inaugural season? (Look at the CFL with the Ottawa RedBlacks winning the Grey Cup in their second season.) Maybe they are really pulling for the Golden Knights to win the Cup in order to justify charging the expansion Seattle owners a hefty expansion fee.

Are you suggesting they are giving the VGK an unfair advantage just so they can win the Cup, and justify the $650 million price tag charged to Seattle?

As my posting history shows I am not one of those numerous passionate Myers haters on this forum.

But for sure that was a stupid penalty. Stupid, clear interference by cross checking his guy. It's not penalized every time, not even for Myers, but he is a big man and it's so easy to see when he is doing that.

Above all, that interference was not needed in that situation. Therefore that penalty was also stupid. Often you are forced to take penalty and that's OK. Myers was not forced to take that penalty.

In the words of Shane Hnidy, "Absolutely! Oh fer sure." As soon as Myers went after the guy I looked for the ref. Sure enough, he had his arm up. FFS. Stupid, obvious, lazy, selfish penalty by Myers. I think that "hit" might have been his version of a hard-hitting, rough-and-tumble, macho game.

Complaining about the Refs --is a "loser's game --all teams get bad penalties called against them -- but in the long run, it usually balances out. The Refs are there to do a job, and put food on the table for their families.

Right now, we're being beaten by a "very tough team" that has a Goaltender playing with a 94 Save% Percentage. The Jets have to keep their eye on the ball--and not blame things on the Refs--same goes for some posters--although it makes them feel better.

If Vegas does beat the Jets--I think they'll win the Cup !!! they make few mistakes, don't take off periods, and have some great veteran players. Give them credit.
Complaining about the refs is a losers game, but paying to the refs wins you the cup:sarcasm:
No that's not what i really think. but at the heat of the moment, while watching bloody nosed Sheifele sitting in the penalty box, i really thought something like that.

So it looks like the NHL wants a Tampa Vegas final. Ovechin tripped and Tampa scores on the turnover ... what BS. Zero PPs for the Caps.

"In 2011, Marc-Andre Fleury and the Pittsburgh Penguins stormed out to a 3-1 lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning before Fleury imploded, allowing four goals on 14 shots in Game 5. Fleury was little better in Game 6, allowing another four goals – this time on 21 shots – before playing a lights-out Game 7 in which he allowed just one goal. Unfortunately for Fleury, he was bested by a 36-save shutout by the Lightning’s Dwayne Roloson and Tampa Bay advanced to the second round."

Wow , that shooting % is just messed up !! Hope the law of averages starts kicking in tomorrow and the rest of this series .

It doesn't, until they stop their habit of allowing easy goals. If you allow easy goals, for sure your opponent's SH% will go up. Jets were not unlucky on those goals when they defended poorly or gave that gift behind the net for Haula.

They could be "luckier" on the others end though, but Fleury has been so good and sometimes Jets are too easy to predict, esp. on PP1.

If the Jets are to beat Vegas they will have to play even harder than Vegas. You don't think that will be physically demanding on the Jets? Or are they supermen?

The Jets are the more skilled team don't you agree? It's a not competition about who plays harder, it's about who scores more goals. When you are less skilled than the other team, you have to either out-smart or out-work them, or both. I think the way Vegas play is more taxing to the players than the way Jets play. The Jets have a 7-game series behind them, so they were at a disadvantage coming in against a more rested team, so yeah it's pretty damn physically demanding for the Jets as well. Still I believe the longer this series goes on, the better for Jets ... well obviously when they are trailing wins 1-3 but you get my point :D

Well, it's a theory. Personally I don't think Vegas's so-called talent is much below the Jets' (not in this series), and it's really not regaining all of the ground lost to being outhustled and less relentless (which, talent or not, means the other team is getting to pucks sooner and more often; and Vegas hasn't looked deficient in the area of burying chances). Jets have had superior bursts but largely their talent guys haven't outproduced Vegas. They've done okay with Scheif, Wheeler, Buff, to a lesser extent Stastny and Laine. Vegas counters with its number one line (the burying line), Neal and Fleury. The rest of the talent (Helly, Little, Perreault, Maurice, Armia, Morrissey, Trouba, Ehlers) haven't made Vegas feel at all embarrassed. Haven't noticed any of the Vegas guys suffering from fatigue, they look pretty lively. TL,DR: The Jets' superiority in talent isn't big enough to overcome the team's inferiority in other areas of the game, or so it certainly seems. IMO.

I'd like to see them win three in a row now, and another four after that (and 98 after that). There's a chance, just not an encouraging one. Be a real drag if the season ends tonight.
