Vancouver led the league in points at Christmas, Can they continue this run into the New Year?

Canucks games can get expensive and that's not factoring the 9 dollar beer or 18 dollar jumbo hot dogs. The Costco next door has a booming business though with all Canucks fans getting $1.50 hotdog and drink before the game 🤣

ya but they nail you with the $22 parking lol

The Canucks are for real, they just showed up much sooner than most were expecting. I was predicting them to be this good in 3-4 years from now, not today. I wouldnt be surprised if they go on a cinderella run to the cup finals this year.

I’ve always missed the little brother syndrome most Edmonton fans have with Vancouver, it’s good to see it back in full effect. Must be tough when a larger market gets more coverage with a modicum of success than an entire franchise does with McDavid playing for them
Little brother syndrome is bringing up the Oilers every chance you get, even in threads that have nothing to do with them….little bro :thumbu:

Rangers and kings have proof of concept.

Not so much with the nucks

We also beat you
What concept have they proven? That they’re playoff teams like Vancouver.
Vegas certainly has proof of concept and, maybe, Florida.
Anyways, just enjoying the ride so far as are most Canuck fans. Especially considering the crazy schedule so far.

your flex is "we're a larger market than Edmonton!" lol

"smaller market" Edmonton is on ESPN and TNT more than "larger market" Vancouver so who cares anyways

Wasn't an impressive win at all since most people said Canucks dominated the Rangers at most points of the game and Rangers got lucky in OT with that Petersson trip lol. Wasn't a regulation win.

You guys got so outplayed in that game, I remember that, it was a nationally broadcast game.
You're own players even said so in the postgame, that they were outplayed.
LOLOLOL
Outplayed plus Rangers got lucky with a non call. There isn't much to brag about that win for NYR lol.

That’s not even mentioning the fact that the Oilers having a larger valuation as a franchise all while Vancouver has almost 2-3 times the population compared to Edmonton. You’d think the “bigger brother” would at least get more support from their fans.

Regardless, he’s just trolling blindly again anyways.

Good for all the other Vancouver fans though. They’re competitive a lot earlier than I thought they would be.

Oilers have McDavid so it's typical to get coverage when you have the best player in the league. Take away McDavid and Edmonton doesn't get that coverage from ESPN or TNT.

Edmonton is a smaller market team due to the population though. McDavid has made Edmonton look more like a bigger market than it is. There was a time where players would avoid trades or signings with Edmonton and Edmonton had a tough time attracting UFAs and I think Oilers fans remember that. McDavid changed the culture of the team and their outlook. It even made Oilers a much more valuable team. It's like Toronto Raptors getting Jordan or like inter Miami with Messi. Hall of Fame players and legends can make a team a lot more popular.

It'd be great if certain fans could understand that inevitable regression doesn't mean they're a bad team, or that they're going to miss the playoffs. It's just simple statistics. They could still finish high up in the west and regress.

Demko has already started regressing, he's still having an amazing Vezina quality year, it's just not "the best year ever for a goalie AINEC" kind of year certain people were chest puffing about in November.

The Pacific is going to be a dogfight of who can get #1 and avoid the 2/3 matchup that will be a bloodbath
If it’s just honestly talking about regression because you’re so into stats then why is only one team ever talked about this way?

Because “regression” is COPE for haters.

The Canucks are Canada’s Team 🥳

From spending time in Vancouver, I am not even sure the Canucks are Vancouver's team... I met far more Leafs fans than I did Canucks fans.

The Canucks are for real, they just showed up much sooner than most were expecting. I was predicting them to be this good in 3-4 years from now, not today. I wouldnt be surprised if they go on a cinderella run to the cup finals this year.

When were they supposed to start competing? Their team is not exactly young...

They aren't even done constructing the team. JR has pointed out that they like to improve that defense. Also Podkolzin, Lekker and Wilander joining the team in future might make them even a better and deeper team than they are now. I will say they will be adding another top 4 D in trade deadline. Their defense still needs improvement.

Are the 18-19 Islanders the last team that really garnered this level of PDO talk?

They went on to 100+ points that season, as well as two consecutive conference final appearances afterwards.
I don’t think any team has ever garnered half this level of talk about PDO

well of course, but we do so they'll continue to showcase the best player in the world
Which is why am saying that you guys in theory are a small market team but McDavid coverage is what shines the light on your team. Embrace it while you still can. McDavid is a gem
