if/when alvin gets another top 4 rhd and another top 6 winger to play alongside petey look out in the 2nd half of the season and in the playoffs anything can happen.

I think it has been far from quiet... but at least they stopped telling everyone their top players are the best ever since they are not leading in points/goals/anything now...

At some point Vancouver needs to take that next step and start becoming a good team and rise up the standings, and it’s looking like this is that year. For those saying they’ll come crashing back down, at some point you need to admit they may be a good team and may not regress, or regress much.

Edmonton was the exception, not the rule with all their losing year after year. After years of losing and growing pains a team must mature and start winning, and that is what Vancouver is finally doing. Lots of people seem to be upset coming to that reality. It’s also refreshing not reading a McDavid thread every second post on the Mains. “Mcdavid scores a hatty”, “McDavid is leading the scoring race”, “Look at this crazy McDavid assist!” “McDavid wipes his ass like a cup champ”

Must be fun as hell to be a Canucks fan this year. Vibes are immaculate right now. Where they will be at in a few months, who knows. But it's fun right now and that's all that matters.

It'd be great if certain fans could understand that inevitable regression doesn't mean they're a bad team, or that they're going to miss the playoffs. It's just simple statistics. They could still finish high up in the west and regress.

Demko has already started regressing, he's still having an amazing Vezina quality year, it's just not "the best year ever for a goalie AINEC" kind of year certain people were chest puffing about in November.

The Pacific is going to be a dogfight of who can get #1 and avoid the 2/3 matchup that will be a bloodbath

I’ve always missed the little brother syndrome most Edmonton fans have with Vancouver, it’s good to see it back in full effect. Must be tough when a larger market gets more coverage with a modicum of success than an entire franchise does with McDavid playing for them

Still 3 players in the top 10 and that's pretty neat.

Are the 18-19 Islanders the last team that really garnered this level of PDO talk?

They went on to 100+ points that season, as well as two consecutive conference final appearances afterwards.

1 when you sort by P/GP.

Vancouver playing the most amount of games helps, and then better players getting injured also helps (McDavid, J. Hughes, Makar)

The new-look coaching staff is a big win. Tocchet seems to have everything pretty locked in.

Good news is they’re finding different ways to win. Demko hasn’t been playing like a Vezina candidate recently and they’ve still been pulling out wins. They’ve also hit nicely on depth additions with the third-line and the play of guys like Juulsen and Zadorov.

Playoffs seem pretty certain. Think they can win the cup?
I think they could. They have the keys to success.. elite D, elite G and elite C. Some other great players to supplant that (eg. Hronek is no slouch so far this season). A few smart trades or TDL acquisitions and I wouldn't be surprised at all. Not my pick and I do think they are riding high on a very nice wave right now but they are clearly a very solid squad.

Yeah those 5 back to backs - where they went 5-3-2 and a brutal couple of Eastern trips were an early Christmas present from Uncle Gary - they are so blessed!
7 games in 10 days is just a crazy schedule!
Good news is that the second half of the season should see more days off for the top players to get some rest.
