Vancouver led the league in points at Christmas, Can they continue this run into the New Year?

A very strange flex considering that the Rangers, Bruins, and Stars have 104612796 games in hand on the Canucks.

Also, it's December.
They have to win those games. Also if they have 104612796 games in hand then that means their schedule has been cushy til now and will have to play a compressed schedule with many back to backs and long road trips.

They are 100% going to regress. Canuck fans can laugh and mock the PDO stats all they want but they quite literally always regress back towards the mean. No team in history has had a PDO remotely close to where they are right now.... I mean hell the Bruins last year had a historic PDO year and this years Canucks still blow that number out of the water. So yes, some regression is coming.

That being said, they've done well enough and created enough of a gap that making the playoffs for them is basically a lock at this point. Winning the West or winning the Pacific will likely be a challenge but they should have a decent chance at that as well. It'll be interesting to see what the management does at the deadline. I'd be cautious about going to all in this early on in the "window" for them, since we dont even know if the window is really opened yet. But at the same time given the contract status of a couple guys and the age of a key piece in JT Miller, this might also be the best year they get so its a fine line and tough balancing act they face.

Should be interesting to see what they do.
This chart disagrees with you:

Do the Rangers, Bruins and Stars have to play 7 games in 10 days including 2 back-to-backs coming up this season?

The Canucks are in first in spite of their schedule, not because of it.

Plus the teams chasing them with a bazillion games in hand are now so far back they have to win pretty much all the games.

Or at least 4/5 in the case of LA. Canucks have the second highest win percentage to only the Rangers.

oh boy, it's the COPE boys and their PDO nonsense.

Because it’s realistic, team still has some big holes to fill defensively before taking them seriously
Whatever hater.

I just wish people like you wouldn't even pretend to be anything but bitter haters who wish for the Canucks to fail. Instead it's just constantly going on about how they aren't actually that good.

I let them be, it's ok. When fans of opposing teams get jealous, they need to find something to feel secure. I guess they find that in looking at PDO stats. I personally never heard of PDO here or knew what it was before this year. Now am an expert on it, hearing it millions of times this year.

They'll have to raise the "Good after 35 games" banner beside their 7th Man Banner.
Are you guys the same people that whined about sample size when Canucks were winning in the 1st month?? What happened?

Win-loss

Rangers +15
Canucks +14
Stars +12
Bruins +12
Golden Knights +12
Kings +12
Jets +11
Avalanche +10

The Rangers are your true best record but the Canucks 2nd overall by multiple games and 1st in West is certainly a lot to be proud of.

Rangers still rocking that negative goal differential 5 on 5.

If any team is gonna regress it's gonna be the power play merchants.

No Cringe is having the best player in the world proclaim it's "cup or bust" and then being .500 at christmas.
Athlete proclaims he needs to win a championship with his last few years on contract. News at 9.

Only Canuck fans would lack the self awareness to make a thread like this. Eating them up inside because nobody else cared to.

oh please, if the Oilers weren't a disaster of a team you would be right there going on about how it's the 1980s again.
