Will Clase hit? He has that intriguing power/speed combo. I’d love for him to develop into a real player for us.

He could be decent if the plate discipline improves. Not a great fielder, so maybe his peak is an average OF who can bat near the bottom of the lineup

He's still very young with a lot of runway ahead of him - he's basically the same age as the 2024 NCAA draft picks. The improved K:BB rates in AAA this year are really encouraging although it seems to have come with the loss of some of his power.

As noted above, if he was a + fielder or could play CF it would be really easy to project some sort of MLB career for him but that isn't the case barring some sort of huge improvement.

Clarifying slightly. He is an average fielder with above average speed. He has never taken great routes.

Outside of the first 2 weeks or so he's been better than Clement.
I don't know about that, but only because Clement was awful to start the year, too.

They both had rough starts (though Barger's seemed to be mostly bad luck) and have been fantastic ever since. And they both seem to be getting better and better as the season goes along.

They both have pretty pronounced splits, too, so having them in something of a platoon (with each getting lots of time at other positions) makes a lot of sense. It's a good situation to be in!

I'm just tuning into the game looking at the pitching line, why did they lift Francis after only 4 innings? didn't appear to be doing too horribly.
