This team can win games if a star (usually Matthews or Nylander this year) shows up and takes over to overcome our poor depth scoring, defense, and goaltending. Otherwise it's a loss. Hell, even if that does happen they could lose. This just isn't a well built team at all, it has way too many holes. Unfortunately I'm not sure Treliving is even smart enough to recognize that, let alone fill them properly

I think you gotta put Domi back on the wing and maybe on the Matthews line, try Holmberg back at C on the 3rd line. he's just too much of a liability at C.

I wonder if a guy who is not the son of a billionaire would get the same opportunities Tre has got, if you look at his track history, a not stellar history, not a terrible history, he makes as many good moves as bad moves... kinda feels like a knowledgeable fan could have the same effect as Tre.

We shouldn't be looking at Woll like he's going to come in and save the season. He's so talented and has so much potential but has a history of injuries and I don't think he needs the savior expectations at this point in his development.

Unrealistic to expect him to pick up where he left off imo……..

There was a few breakdowns defensively but I felt that after the first 12 minutes of the game we were the better team. Jones was not good tonight, goaltending and the pk is definitely killing us. If Jones could have had a 900 save percentage tonight we’d win. Goal is definitely are bestest weakness imho and if it doesn’t get fixed playoffs might not happen.

I would include not having a 3rd line that can play and be trusted, as well as our PP. When it’s clicking it is fun to watch, but when it’s not, it is sad to see.

Let’s see if this genius sits Knies for a Robertson tonight, because he clearly needs a reset.

That was a really hard fought game last night, in terms of style of play. Maybe if we started on time, the result may have been different. I actually thought Marner was a monster this game, and I’ve see a few Canucks fans notice that as well.

Jarnkrok and Willie are a terrible PK pair too.

Kampf has to bring more.

I think about Tavares’ game tonight, and imagine myself watching him 2, 3, 4 years from now on the Leafs on another Saturday. There’s no cap hit low enough for that to be a preferred scenario.

He’s being misused, when a vet‘s game falls off the cliff you limit his minutes and go to younger options, Keefe is clueless. Ditto for Brodie and Gio, all three are toast at the NHL level……..

I agree, both Shanahan and Keefe need to go. I wouldn’t mind seeing how Berube would do. But I do not want to see a major trade of any kind which would include sending draft picks. Of course the other major problem was keeping this core intact!

The better idea would be to not get down by 3 in the first place.

This team clearly is what it is.

Need 2 better d men and rid of a couple forwards who do nothing and cost a ton of cap.

Need Woll back and Keefe gone.
