Bertuzzi really f***ed himself by signing here. Probably thought he was going to ride on Mitch and Auston's coattails all year and sleepwalk to 30G and 65P, then sign a 5 year deal @ 6-7M elsewhere. Lmao, clown will be lucky to get league min from anyone after this season.

Bertuzzi’s failure to have a good season doesn’t reflect well on the stars whose coattails he’s supposed to ride either.

I say keep Tavares. He's a grinder, gets into the dirty spots, scores, assists, and an added bonus is that the he's a positive influence on the team and teammates can never hate on the guy. He seems like a no b.s. straight-shooter with integrity. Hard to come by these types of players.

Forget about his contract now. It's almost up. Let him play it out, and then hopefully he comes back at a much lesser rate. He's made his money; there's a good chance he'll come back on a second deal. Who wouldn't love to have the guy back on a lower term? He carries a positive vibe and never ever whines or complains or makes excuses. Scored 47 goals not that long ago. I would never let this type of player go and he's still well young enough to add a lot more to his career.
No thank you can you imagine him 2 years from now ?

The only solution I see.
A new coach with experience who installs a team system where defense is important.
This summer, during the draft, exchange Marner for 2 good Young players + draft packs,a defensive defenseman and a forward.
Do not re-sign Tavares, make room for young players, no longer exchange draft choices .
Nobody is giving you that for Marner.

I think about Tavares’ game tonight, and imagine myself watching him 2, 3, 4 years from now on the Leafs on another Saturday. There’s no cap hit low enough for that to be a preferred scenario.

It is certainly not a good look right now. They have become the laughingstock of the NHL. The main boards right now are pretty hostile for leafs fans. The team has really let us down.
Can't say I visit the main boards honestly. And I surely don't care what other fans think of our team or us fans. Regardless, no one is harder on the Leafs than Leaf fans, everyone knows that I it's true for all franchises.

I agree, this team is a disappointment without a doubt. I don't even really understand it... they can dominate almost any team, even with a 4th string goaltender and 5 5th defencemen. Its an attitude thing, always has been and until the core is adjusted it will not change. At this point I welcome another voice behind the bench to try.

so which of the UFA's are we trading ?
If we are out of the playoffs and no chance to get back in?

Everyone on expiring contracts that anyone will take.

I just don't see it happening though. We won't fall out of it enough for that to happen. Might we flip a UFA for another UFA that might fit better? Maybe.

Nucks got some puck luck, could have gone the other way, but despite the shot count they were faster and more structured with their attack. Might be deeper than a coaching issue but a change feels overdue.

I didn't read all of the comments, so someone has likely already posted this:

True, but, most of them have gotten their money, so I am sure they don’t give 2 shits about what fans think of them.

This is gotta be the end of the line of Keefe
If they lose in regulation tomorrow to Seattle it has to be the end.

Honestly win or loss it doesn’t matter. His body of work this year says it all

What the f***

21 shots, 6 goals…yet I can’t blame Jones alone. He was awful no doubt, but so was the defence

Came out flat as a skipping stone, roar back in and jones then preceded to stink. He had 3 on 15, let in 3 goals on 6 shots…..defence was awful, Liljegren blows a clearance, nylander and knies too. McCabe and Benoit give hits and still lose the puck.

This team is a bit better than 2019-2020, it has worse goaltending, better offence, and around the same defence

Holy f*** we stink

Keefe is terrible, but Tre gave him a rotten roster with no capable Dmen and no forwards that can play defense. No wonder their PP is atrocious.

Its like we went back in time to the mid Dubas years where team had no identity and he tried to get guys like Clifford or Simmonds to come and be a character guy to lift the team.

not to mention the candy contracts to people like Kampf and Willie.
horrible start to the Tre era.

The Leafs really don't have a starter.

At this point they're going to have to play Samsonov to find out for sure he's done before the season is lost.

Samsonov might drive them straight to a lottery pick.

does Keefe even coach. Why is the team continue to be not ready to start and there is very little structure in the team.
Why can’t we have a coach or players who play with structure

Jones’ MO on his last two teams was a hot start only to crash back to earth.

He’s done his job but relying in him as a #1 is foolish.

Leafs squeezed a lot of good hockey out of Jones but it might be diminishing returns beyond this point. Not sure if the system is wearing him down but that simple, quiet efficiency is starting to look very leaky.
