1 goal in the past 25 games for Bertuzzi and 1 in the past 16 for Knies. 1 in the past 14 for Domi as well.

That is not good enough.
Bertuzzi really f***ed himself by signing here. Probably thought he was going to ride on Mitch and Auston's coattails all year and sleepwalk to 30G and 65P, then sign a 5 year deal @ 6-7M elsewhere. Lmao, clown will be lucky to get league min from anyone after this season.

The best time to do that was 3 or more years ago. Unfortunately.
Agreed. That's why I hate this all in shit fans go on about. Trade all our picks, we're trying to win now. If it was down to me as a GM, I would have a 1st round pick every single year, regardless of where I was in the standings. Doesn't necessarily have to be my own, but I'd have one.

I dunno about that... not the out of a playoff spot part, but the nearly impossible to get back in.

Reasons for me saying that are based on ifs. If #1, Woll comes back and stabilizes the goaltending position. If #2, we have seen how well the team can play. If things get desperate my hope is that they have to rely on that type of play for the rest of the season.
It is certainly not a good look right now. They have become the laughingstock of the NHL. The main boards right now are pretty hostile for leafs fans. The team has really let us down.

I don't know about blaming Van Ryn when Gio and Brodie have forgotten how to play hockey.

Realistically, you have Rielly, McCabe and Lily the Caveman. Benoit is fine as a #7....you're not going far with that.
McCabe barely scrapes by as no.4 but McCabe-Benoit can compete for best 3rd pair in the league.

The real problem Lil-Brodie-Gio. Not many will agree with me on Lil but I see none of these 3 as real top 4 and I rather have McCabe-Benoit pairing over any 2 combo of those 3. Top 4 is a mess.

Agreed 100%. I think we need a #2 (or #1 whatever to go with Rielly) a #3 and a #4.

In all honesty, what we need is going to take us longer than Matthews being younger than 30.

48 shots against is "structure"? Demko and the officials are why they won. The Canucks were a tire fire tonight. If that's how they usually play, they're gonna get stomped in round 1.
This game was probably one of the worst 10% of the games the Canucks have played. But the bottom 6 are probably the best in the league, offensively

The Leafs are giving Chicago their 1st round pick next year because of Jake McCabe. Yay

Edit: And also a 2nd rounder in 2026

It's honestly impressive the way he's screwing up chances at this point. A fanned open net that he kicks a puck into, earlier in the game he has 2/3rds of the net to toss a puck into, but throws it fivehole and wide.

At this point of his career, Brodie is that old guy who used to be good that a contender with accrued cap space trades for at the deadline to secure their depth.

And we have him as our no.2

They played a pretty good game after the 1st. They battled; the shots on goal differential proves it.

But the first 20 minutes killed them.

Can't go down 3-0 and expect to win.

All in all same b.s. with these guys.

Sorry to say but the sobering reality is that this is a middle-of-the-pack team that might or might not make the playoffs.

Which is bewildering because the roster is packed with so much f*cking talent but as usual there are many pieces missing from this group.

For sure, changes have to come, and now.

It's gotta be Keefe. Right now that seems like the only option at this moment in time.

Who knows, maybe it comes this week...

They desperately need draft picks and prospects.
They should be sellers this year, ride out Tavares’ contract next year, and then, with cap room they can go for it.
Buyout JT-s contract or retain 4 mill and trade him treliving would have to have big balls to do that.

Retain 2 mil

The puck was initially going to slide in too, but he literally stopped the puck and then kicked it in lol

There's nothing about that loss to Vancouver that was unexpected.

From the shitty Leaf effort to start the game, the little miracle comeback burst courtesy of score effects. Terrible and aimless special teams, increasingly unreliable goaltending from Jones, weak defensive coverage, blowing it late in the third, over-use and weak defense by Giordano, inconsistent star impact... it was basically just your standard 2023-24 roller coaster Leaf ride and you want to vomit after.

I think they manage at least 1 point in Seattle and go 0-2 vs Winnipeg. Does a coaching change happen?
little miracle comeback burst? score effects? leafs tied the game twice lol, 46 shots to 25 or whatever is not score effects.

I say keep Tavares. He's a grinder, gets into the dirty spots, scores, assists, and an added bonus is that the he's a positive influence on the team and teammates can never hate on the guy. He seems like a no b.s. straight-shooter with integrity. Hard to come by these types of players.

Forget about his contract now. It's almost up. Let him play it out, and then hopefully he comes back at a much lesser rate. He's made his money; there's a good chance he'll come back on a second deal. Who wouldn't love to have the guy back on a lower term? He carries a positive vibe and never ever whines or complains or makes excuses. Scored 47 goals not that long ago. I would never let this type of player go and he's still well young enough to add a lot more to his career.

This season is a write off and managements knows it.

Jones has always been at best a backup. Not sure what the leafs were expecting.
