The media left him alone. He was asked about his contract at the start of the year and not again. What's discussed on the radio/twitter etc well if he chooses to listen that's on him.

The push to get it done with rfa time left was to prevent him from taking his QO in the off season and walking to free agency.

I don’t think this is really a discount. MacKinnon got $12.6 million and I’d say the difference between the two is about $1 million a year.

It seems like a very fair deal, just like the MacKinnon deal.
